We Survived M3 2011
Bring On Maiden!
Birthday shots, "Liquor Friday", strawberry margaritas, a little rain, some botched travel plans, and great burgers!! That is our trip to M3 in a nutshell! Somehow we both managed to make it back in one piece.
 | | Emcee & Prize Patrol at Sonoma's!! |
The pre-show was a huge success with a great crowd and Wildstreet's set list was an unexpected treat. The weather cooperated until Saturday night and Lita Ford played, once again, in the rain(anyone who was at Rocklahoma '08 will understand why I say again, luckily no stages collapsed this time!) Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your perspective, we managed to stay dry, tho missed Ford's set...thank you strawberry margaritas, and we'll leave it at that! I managed to book our flight home a day too early, and neither of us noticed, even after reading our itinerary on numerous occasions, until we attempted to board a flight on Monday that departed on Sunday!(Hope you all got a good chuckle out of that one!) Now, as far as the music....KILLER!!! Starting with Friday and 4 bands that played M3 last
 | | Warrant | year, Jetboy sounded great, Robert Mason is still the best move Warrant made, LA Guns...hmmm, Phil Lewis needs a new stylist, and Kix kicked A$$!!! There is one issue that we, as spectators, have with the set-up of M3: the schedule. There is NO time between main stage and side stage acts and often times they overlap. So, I can't tell you anything about Pretty Boy Floyd, Hurtsmile or Black N' Blue, 'cause they were overruled by Danger Danger, Firehouse, Slaughter(love that Zoltan Chaney) and Great White. Split the time between Mr. Big, Faster Pussycat, Sebastian Bach and Big
 | | David Coverdale of Whitesnake | Noize. Joe Lynn Turner, BTW... AWESOME! Completely missed Tesla and Lita Ford, but not because of scheduling(see strawberry margaritas above.) Caught the tale end of Whitesnake. All in all, every band performed well and there was no major drama...on stage! Already looking forward to next year! Speaking of next year... here is a list of bands that people want to see at M3: Kix(cause it's their hometown and they're just that much fun live!!) Junkyard Dangerous Toys Zebra Loudness Adler's Appetite Steelheart Queensryche Motley Crue Def Leppard Aerosmith Judas Priest And mostly: IRON MAIDEN!!! Concessions should include MILLER LITE and $5 burgers & fries Freak Stage should have a sword swallower or fire eater AND......MORE BATHROOM STALLS!!!!

A Sad Farewell...
"A hickie from Kenickie is like a Hallmark card...I care enough to send the very best!"
A memorable line from an unforgettable character. Once again, we say goodbye in a tragic end to an actor of stage, screen and film. Jeff Conaway, 60, was taken off life support after slipping into a coma from an apparent drug overdose and died on May 27, 2011. Conaway began as an understudy for the role of Danny Zuko in the Broadway production of Grease, and eventually took over the role which he played for 2 1/2 years. But most remember him as Zuko's best friend and second, Kenickie, in the film version. Still others will remember him for Bobby Wheeler from the hit TV show Taxi. More recently, Conaway appeared on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club and Celebrity Rehab. | | John Travolta, Jeff Conaway, aka, Zuko & Kenickie |
