Happy 10th Birthday Retro Active!
Amy H Says Goodbye
It is with elation and a heavy heart that I wish Retro Active Happy 10th Birthday, and a very fond farewell! For 10 years I have had the privilege to be part of something truly special and it was an experience I will never forget. I have met outstanding people, been to amazing places and created countless precious memories. I can scarce type for the blur of tears welling in my eyes. I am excited about my new adventures ahead, but a piece of my heart will always be with Retro Active! Thank you Amy, for taking me along for the ride! Rock On!! \m/
On a lighter note, it looks like I will be continuing to write the newsletter for now!
So to celebrate this milestone, Amy and I spent the weekend in Columbia, MD at the M3 Rock Fest and had a blast!! Great to see: Chad, Taime, Ace, Christian and Danny of Faster Pussycat; Angela, Jackie and Jodi; Allen; Joe; Morty; Josh (akaJoah); Jizzy; Timmy; and to meet Gary; Parker from Queensryche (sigh!); Jamie and Jesse; Drunk Boston bucket dude; Connecticut Sox man; and numerous more!!! The highlights: I heard Dokken sounded great, but I only made it for a couple songs; KIX (always); Tyketto (a nice surprise!! check them out!); I actually enjoyed Europe! They sounded great! But the epitome for me was Queensryche! Awesome set and they sounded tight!!
I considered putting together another photo montage video, but I think the one I did 2 years ago said it all!! For the rest of the year's newsletters, I will highlight some of the events over the last 10 years!
I think it only fitting that I should end on a song lyric...
"Slow change may pull us apart
When the light gets into your heart, baby Don't You Forget About Me
Don't Don't Don't Don't
Don't You Forget About Me..."

Monsters of Rock Cruise
Amy L's Quick Review
Another Monsters of Rock Cruise has come and gone! Shows start by 5pm Saturday and the last one late Tuesday night, this is non stop shows from start to finish. A late set up of the pool stage threw timing off for the whole cruise, causing a little more over lap than usual. At any given time there or 3 or 4 bands on stage at various locations. This year included some great Q&A sessions with many of the bands. Highlights for me: Zebra, Queensryche, Tyketto, Cathouse night with Faster Pussycat, Krokus, Y& T and John Corabi doing the 94 Motley album . I am sure I am forgetting something awesome, like Tom Keifer!! But everything I saw was pretty darn good! I highly recommend this cruise!!
