9 Years Come and Gone!

(Okay, okay, I know it's late, but I had finals to study for, take and ACE!!! Anyway....)

Retro Active turned 9 years old on May 2, 2014. It's hard to believe that we've been here almost an entire decade! We've seen a lot of styles and products come and go. Here's a look back at some of our previous best sellers, deep cuts, and discontinued favorites:

M3 Review
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

Here's Amy Leonard's perspective on the weekend:

First, let me say, the festival really starts off on Thursday night at the Pre-Party put on by Dave Dilman and D-Toxin Productions at Sonomas.
Friday night we had Winger (always a good show, Kip sounds great.) Lita Ford with the bonus of Cherie Currie popping out on stage for 2 or 3 songs. Followed by a fabulous set by Extreme....I finally got to see them do Get the Funk out!! My favorite for the night, was of course, KIX...who put on yet another kick-ass set!! Watch out, Kix has a new CD coming out on July 22 of this year (and why yes, that IS my birthday!!) Despite the very rainy and wet evening, the shows were great.
Saturday was beautiful weather wise, for the first time in 5 years, I was there for the early bands. I caught some Heaven's Edge, I not familiar with them, but they sounded good.
Keel kicked some ass on the main stage and than back for one of my favorites John Corabi with a full band. I love this guy!! Go see him if you have a chance. The afternoon consisted of a back and forth between the main stage and the side stage, seeing parts of Femme Fatale, Jake E Lees' Red Dragon Cartel, Autograph, Jack Russell's Great White, and La Guns. All good shows. The highlight of the afternoon was an amazing set by the Todd La Torre fronted Queensryche!! I saw many a "without Geoff, Queensryche is nothing" fan converted within a song or two. Todd brings his own personality to the songs, but he can hit the notes and personally, this is the Queensryche I have been dying to see for the past 15 years! No other band beat Queensryche for me that day. The rest of the day consisted of a somewhat rainy Slaughter set, (which I missed, as I did not want to get wet!!). To finish out the day/night we had sets by Stryper, Sebastain Bach, Night Ranger and Tesla. Not a big follower of Stryper in the 80s, but with all the festival I have been to, I have seen them numerous times. They never fail to deliver. Bach was Bach, his sound wasn't always good, but he pumped out all his hits. The crowd was happy. Night Ranger is one of my favorites, because you can Still Rock In America!! Loved it!! Don't Tell Me You Love Me will always be a favorite of mine. The show concluded with the always fun to watch Tesla. A perfect way to end the show!!
