Back To School Fashion Trends Of The 80s       
Big Hair, Shoulder Pads & Pegged Jeans, Oh My! 
   
Remember those final dog days of summer when school was looming just around the corner? Did you look forward to school shopping with mom, or was your experience more like The Fresh Prince's, (aka Will Smith for all you young readers) and your parents did the ultimate? You asked them for Adidas
 
and they bought you Zips?





Well, here is a look back at some of the hottest fashion trends that caused frenzied school shopping sprees...
 
No wardrobe was complete without a few pairs of jeans, stone or acid washed, and
long enough to be peg-rolled!! 
  
A few simple tops and a good pair of scissors can create several looks! Off the shoulder was a must!  

The outer shell is to be protected by a coat of denim, fringe is preferable.

Reebox Freestyles were a staple, in at least 3 colors, and Slouch socks...
  
Add some choice accessories to complete your look!
    
 
And if you lose your ruler in shop class, just take the cloth off your slap bracelet and you've got a tape measure! 
      
Don't forget an outfit for class picture day, which probably included some Z.Cavaraccis...
 and plenty of shoulder pads!
 



And the hair!!!! Gotta have a new hair cut for a new school year, and plenty of Aquanet for...   
 
wings...          crimps...   and super height!!
And, of course, the mullets...
