Cup of Compassion - What an Experience!

On February 25th, the 13th Annual Cup of Compassion Breakfast took place at the Tampa Convention Center.  Over 500 members of the Tampa Bay community were in attendance to support the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay and its mission to ensure that no one in our community has to face crisis alone.  This was my first Cup of Compassion, and I have to say, it was an incredible experience!

Reuniting a Family

Latasha loves her job and her family. She's the proud mom of two wonderful sons, James and Jasaun. Her job as a school bus driver is challenging but she loves greeting the children in the morning and seeing their smiling faces.  

While she has a steady source of income for most of the year, she does not receive a paycheck during the summer when school is out of session - and money is always tight.

After 6 years in the same apartment where Latasha and her boys lived, the owner of the complex decided to review tenant files and evict those who were behind in their rent. Latasha and her kids were locked out of the apartment with no money and no way to obtain their personal items....

How One Lunch Leads to a Legacy

"Estate Planning" can be an intimidating and overwhelming concept. It's easy to think that only the uber-rich need to be concerned about what happens to their assets when they pass away. However, once someone has acquired common assets like a home, a retirement account, or a life insurance policy, they need to put a plan in place to take care of the next generation.

Take Back The Night: April 30, 2016

Save the Date for Take Back The Night 2016! This year's event will be at North Straub Park (350 Bay Shore Drive NE) on Saturday, April 30th starting at 5:00pm.

This interactive event creates awareness, empowers survivors, and educates the community about sexual and domestic violence. The event begins with a music festival and resource fair and culminates with an empowerment march, candlelight vigil, & survivor speak-out. FREE Continuing Education Credits

Join us for an Estate and Tax Planning Seminar to earn your continuing education credits (3 credit hours). The course will be at the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 7:45 AM to 12:15 PM and will provide an opportunity to network with your peers while receiving up-to-date information in your field.

Finance and tax experts will be presenting the latest trends and changing dynamics to assist financial planners (CFP); chartered life underwriter (CLU), chartered financial consultants (ChFC), certified public accountant (CPA - CPE credit) and insurance advisors stay current in their fields and better serve their clients.
