The 7th Annual Schools of the Future Conference - November 3 & 4 - is accepting proposals for the 2015 conference sessions. The deadline to submit proposals is Friday, March 13, 2015. Notifications will be sent by April 17, 2015. To submit a proposal, go to http://www.sotfconf.org.

HTY's Romeo and Juliet: April 22-25
This year's Hawaii Theatre Young Actors Ensemble is hard at work on a production of Romeo and Juliet. The school shows will be Wednesday, April 22 at 10am, and Thurs/Friday, April 23/24 at 9:15am. Public performances will be Friday, April 24 at 7pm and Saturday, April 25 at 2pm. A comprehensive Study Guide for teachers bringing classes to the production is provided. The production is targeted for 6th - 12th grades. Tickets are $5, and with every twenty students, a teacher/chaperone gets in for free. Please give the Box Office a call to book tickets -791-1310.

Teachers Across Borders: Africa
Teachers Across Borders facilitates best practices workshops with 600 math and science colleagues (Gr.6 -12) from rural schools in South Africa and Swaziland. TABSA has two vacancies for June 24 - July 24, 2015, in each subject, to join educators from Punahou, 'Iolani, and Catlin Gabel Academy. Workshops in Swaziland will be attended by United Nations observers with prospects for long term UNICEF sponsorship. Deeper Learning is best described as curriculum, pedagogy, and practice which include project- and place-based learning, mastery-based grading, public presentations of learning, student-led conferences, and portfolio defenses. Jaymes Dec Workshops: March 19
'Iolani School will be hosting Jaymes Dec for a handful of workshops focused on Making in Education. Jaymes Dec is the Fab Lab Integrator at Marymount School in New York City, Learning Experience Designer, and a Stanford FabLearn Fellow.
These workshops are designed for elementary, middle, and high school level and will provide educators with an introduction to integrating electronics and simple programming into the curriculum. There is still space in the Thursday, March 19 workshop, and it is free and open to all educators! Click here to register.
