The reception will take place on Thursday, February 26 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm, at the Sheraton Boston Hotel, Fairfax B - 3rd Floor. 2015 SOTF Conference Call for Proposals

St. Andrew's Priory Parent Night: February 27
St. Andrew's Priory has organized an event exclusively for the parents and guardians of middle and high school students. Upper School Parent Night will provide parents with suggestions, tools, and strategies from the experts. National Youth Science Camp Application: March 1
The National Youth Science Camp (NYSC) is a month-long, all-expenses-paid summer STEM program which includes delegates from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and other countries. The deadline is March 1. For more information, please visit the Website.

Visual Arts Intensive: June 28 -July 3
The Honolulu Waldorf School oceanfront campus in Aina Haina will host a Visual Arts Intensive in Painting and Drawing for Teachers., with Van James, author of Drawing with Hand, Head and Heart. It will run from Sunday, June 28 to Friday, July 3, 2015 from 8:30 am -12:30 pm. The course is designed for Waldorf class teachers, homeschooling parent-teachers, public and independent grade and specialists teachers who want an overview of child development in relation to visual learning in grades 1-8. The fee is $350 and includes two sessions per day for six days, all materials, and refreshments at break times. An early-bird fee of $320 is offered until March 15. Wa'a Talks: February 24
The next Wa'a Talks will take place on February 24 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, at Island Pacific Academy. This event is free and open to public, charter, and independent school teachers and leaders interested in sharing mana'o or learning more about how to integrate the Worldwide Voyage and mālama honua into school communities. Educating for Character Workshop: March 6
This one day, interactive workshop will offer participants an overview of the "structure and guts" of top quality, research based, carefully focused programs that make a difference. Participants will leave with an understanding of 1) what practices are most effective, 2) why these practices are effective, and 3) how to begin, starting Monday. Participants will receive a copy of the Center for Spiritual and Ethical Education's (CSEE) most recent publication, Breaking into the Heart of Character. The event will be held at 'Iolani School on March 6 from 8:45 am-2:30 pm. The cost is $40 for CSEE member schools and $80 for others. Click here to view the event flier. Literacy Reimagined Workshop: March 7
Ka Hui Heluhelu presents Angela Maiers and "Literacy Reimagined," a workshop exploring the differences and similarities between literacies of the past and new digital competencies and investigating how technology challenges those perceptions. High School Industry Challenge: April 17
There are still a number of spaces left in all five challenges. All projects are great opportunities for students to engage in real problem solving scenarios in our community, in particular SSFM International's tiny houses challenge that has been talked about in the news recently. 7th Annual Kukulu Kaiaulu Conference: June 9 & 10
The 7th Annual Kukulu Kaiaulu Conference: Building Global Communities, will be held on June 9 & 10 at the Neal Blaisdell Center. Proposals are now being accepted for the opportunity to share your experience and expertise with colleagues. The goal is for attendees to experience informative, inspirational, relevant, and meaningful professional development. This year, there will be several formats for presenting innovate uses of technology in education, including breakout session presentations. The Conference Strands of Focus will include: Coding/Game-based Learning, Collaboration/GAFE, Creativity, Learning Spaces, Mobile Learning and Project-Based Learning.
