Greetings!
Yesterday Colorado took a major step toward equality when the State House of Representatives passed Civil Unions with bipartisan support, 39-26. Governor Hickenlooper is expected to sign the bill in the next couple weeks and it should be effective May 1, 2013. Want to be among the first in Boulder to get officially united? Join us for a celebration on May 1st, details to be determined, so stay posted! We will be there ready to congratulate you with treats and well wishes. Let's Celebrate with St. Patty's Happy Hour TODAY

We do hope you will come OUT, even if just for a song, a pint or a bite. Please join Out Boulder for our March HAPPY HOUR at Conor O'neills Irish Pub in Boulder Wed., March 13, 5-7 pm and we can celebrate our success of Colorado Civil Unions!
We will be ringing in this evening of merriment with good friends, LIVE music, and good food with a St. Patrick's Day flair. We will be joined by a Longmont celebrated musician Brian Rezac. Brian will be playing for us the some traditional Irish music, some amazing original music, and some fantastic old favorites.. all while wearing a KILT!
We will be in the back dining room, by the fireplace and adjacent to the patio. With a high of 58° it will likely be nice enough to play outside on the patio! It's time for us to come OUT together.

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: TRANSforming Gender Symposium @ CU (FREE Registration!)

 The University of Colorado Boulder's TRANSforming Gender Symposium is celebrating its seventh year! This year's keynotes include Eli Clare, Ryka Aoki, and JAC Stringer; the film "Intersexion,"; a potluck Friday evening at the Pridehouse, and much more. The Symposium hosts national and local transgender and genderqueer activists to address issues surrounding transgender, genderqueer and related identities. Presenters and participants have included academics, health professionals, community organizers, performance and visual artists, students, faculty, staff, youth, family members, community members and other interested folks.The Symposium is free and open to the public. Workshops, films, and keynotes speakers will be held in the Center for Community (2249 Willard Loop Drive).

April Happy Hour: Featuring Frontrunners, Community Cycles, and YOU - Apr 3

 Join Out Boulder, Frontrunners, and Community Cycles for Happy Hour on Weds, April 3, 5-7pm at Hapa Sushi! Great food provided by Hapa. Learn more about the organizations and meet some new community members. Find us in the back bar. Come early for Happy Hour Drink Specials until 5:30pm! Frontrunners is for GLBT and friends of GLBT runners and walkers of all skill levels and ages. Community Cycles educates and advocates for the safe use of bicycles as an affordable, viable and sustainable means of transportation and personal enjoyment within our community.

Bouldering Poets XI - Mar 22

Bouldering Poets is a monthly performance Series, curated by Elyse Brownell, featuring poetry, prose, music, visual art, performance art, etc., and each event closes with an OPEN MIC. For the month of March, Bouldering Poets XI will be at 303 Vodka Distillery in Boulder and will feature a queer-focused lineup of poets and performers from the community:

- Gorilla (poetry & music)
- Ellen Orleans (prose)
- Open mic
- Dulcimer by Asa
- Guest Host: Joshua Wigley The event starts at 7:30pm.
There is NO COVER and ALL AGES are invited to attend.

Open Door Fund Dinner - Apr 6

 Academy Award winning writer Dustin Lance Black is the keynote speaker at this year's Open Door Fund Gala. The annual fundraiser will be held Saturday April 6 at the St Julien Hotel. Open Door is an endowed fund at the Community Foundation benefiting the LGBT community in Boulder County.
Lance is a passionate social activist as well as the screenwriter of MILK, the story of the late civil rights activists Harvey Milk. He is the writer of many other films, television shows and plays, and a national figure in the fight to achieve equality for the LGBT community. It is fitting that the theme of this year's Gala is "Making a Difference." Please join us for an evening that promises to be uplifting and inspiring, but also fun and entertaining, with cocktails, dinner, and -- by popular request -- dancing.
