Upcoming Events & Note from our Executive Director

Greetings! ,

I am grateful to share that the Out Boulder board and staff are supporting me in attending a retreat from Dec 15 to Jan 14. As an organization, Out Boulder works to support our staff in creating a strong work/life balance to keep them refreshed and passionate for the work we are doing. 2012 has already been an amazingly full year, from our Red Party in February to the recent Happy Hour at Cuba Cuba, we have held events, workshops, and community gatherings that have reached close to 16,000 community members. And we aren't done! In just the next few weeks we have our:

We are actively planning our 2013 year of programs and events. You can look forward to a Health Fair in the spring and, of course, our 10th Annual Pridefest! I have been working with the board and staff to make sure Out Boulder will continue to run smoothly in the time that I am gone. If you have any questions for me, please email me and I would love to talk to you.

In Solidarity,

Aicila Lewis

Out Boulder Yoga - Saturdays & Mondays

Yoga GLBT BoulderKetul Arnold has been teaching yoga since 1974. He also trained in classical theatre and performed in many productions of Shakespeare as an actor and stage fighter. He now lives in Boulder, CO and after a 7 year introspection is now willing to teach again as a public service for the GLBT community and anyone else who might want to might share in the fun. Rasa yoga is the evolution of Ketul's life experience, and of the love and courage of those who were his students and and at the same time his most revered teachers. It is a gentle practice, great for beginners to advanced. There is no fee for the class, but if you choose to, a donation will be accepted.

Join us for a time to meditate, relax, and find a connection to yourself and others. Our Saturday class takes place at Intercambio, 1:30 - 3 pm. Our Monday class takes place at First Congregational Church, 6:30 - 8pm. Contact Jen with questions.

TRANSforming Gender Symposium Call for Proposals

CU GLBTQ Resource Center

The University of Colorado-Boulder's TRANSforming Gender Symposium is celebrating its seventh year! The Symposium hosts national and local transgender and genderqueer activists to address issues surrounding transgender, genderqueer and related identities. Previous presenters and participants have included academics, health professionals, community organizers, performance and visual artists, students, faculty, staff, youth, family members, community members, and other interested folks.

Workshop topics may encompass many aspects of gender identity, gender expression, trans identities, transitioning, and other transgender and intersex related issues. Panels, papers, and workshops will address these issues through a variety of lenses as well as in relation to specific contexts such as social justice, academia or health. We particularly encourage proposals that are relevant to trans identities such as intersex, two-spirit, genderqueer, and people of color. More info
