Support the Story Sharing Project!

  story share project

Dear Community,

My name is Shannon Cleary and I have been an intern with Out Boulder since January 2012. I have had the opportunity to create an LGBTQ community portrait of Boulder through story sharing. When I began, I couldn't wait to go home and start this project. My passion for the wonderful people in this community has not dwindled since. After getting the word out about the project, I began interviewing participants. Each story brought me closer to each individual and to our community. In some interviews tears filled my eyes. In others I laughed so hard I almost ruined the recordings. And some I left profoundly inspired. I feel so honored to have had this opportunity to connect with so many people.

The photo shoots were another fulfilling experience. We met in places where each participant had a connection. I did my best to capture a piece of their personality and a passion in their life.

I have recently launched an indiegogo campaign to raise the funds to complete this project. I need your support Boulder! My goal is to print several copies of the book for the community to take home with them. I have set up an exhibition (from February 20- March 19) for the photos and quotes at Innisfree Café on the hill (a locally owned poetry bookstore and café). After this, the exhibition will move to the Pride House.

These exhibitions and printing the books will only be possible with your help. Please take a look at the indiegogo page and support the Boulder LGBTQ Community Portrait.

Your support means the world,

Shannon Cleary
