National Voter Registration Day is September 23rd

voteregJoin CalNonprofits in celebrating National Voter Registration Day on September 23rd!

Did you know California is the 7th worst state in terms of the percentage of eligible voters who are registered to vote? CalNonprofits is determined to change that. Join us by promoting voter registration and celebrating democracy on September 23rd!

National Voter Registration Day is a key time to promote voter registration and register voters ahead of registration deadlines. It falls 6 weeks before Election Day and is the time to ensure our communities are registered and ready to participate. You reach audiences no one else does.

Let's raise our nonprofit voices this fall!

If you haven't already, there's still time to sign up as a partner to host an event or just remind everyone you know to register and vote November 4th.

Put National Voter Registration Day on your calendar now. Learn more atwww.NationalVoterRegistrationDay.org and use #CelebrateNVRD on social media to spread the word!

Submissions Wanted for Behavioral Health Art Calendar

2015 Behavioral Health Art Calendar

Dear Community Partner,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Chronic Disease Prevention Coordinator focusing on our Prevention and Early Intervention programs funded by the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA).   The MHSA is a 1 percent tax on personal incomes over $1 million, which provides support to county  mental health programs and statewide initiatives.   I'm excited to start working with you to continue providing Behavioral Health services for Monterey County residents where they are needed the most.

We are currently working on our 2015 Art Calendar to recognize and celebrate our local artists  and to inform Monterey County residents of mental health information, resources, and Prevention and Early Intervention funded programs and Initiatives.

The art work featured in the calendar comes from our community's youth, adults, mental health professionals, or their families who are impacted by mental illness.   The art pieces center around the theme: Motivational, hopeful, uplifting and inspirational art by artists impacted by mental illness or by working in the mental health field.

Please download and share the flyer and submission form, with everyone who might be interested.  I am available to answer any questions.

I look forward to working with you,

Elizabeth Ambriz, MPH
