Greetings!
During the third week of March, several staff members had the opportunity to attend the IHRSA (International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association) convention in Las Vegas. Along with thousands of other people, we participated in educational seminars, group workouts, a busy trade show and the industry's best networking events. One of the products that we sampled was the Balanced Body Orbit. This fun, full-body workout strengthened, stretched and challenged us on multiple planes. The Orbit is just one of the many new products, programs and services that we will be bringing to you in the very near future! Jane Nieman Club Manager

From the Desk of...
R.J. Meske Transformation Challenge Results In what turned out to be the closest Effort Point race of any Challenge thus far, actually ended up being all about transformation. Not only did we have the highest average transformation per team this year, our challenge winners actually recorded the highest average percentage change of any team that has participated in the Transformation Challenge. With a gigantic average percentage change of 65.9 combined with 521 Effort points for a Challenge total of 34329 points, it is team ANMHE that earns the title of 2013 Transformation Challenge winners! This is an exceptional accomplishment; the team at Liberty offers our congratulations to Stefani Thomann, Timo Thomann-Rompf, Shawna Jordan, Roy Farmer and their coach Jason Hoey. Our second and third place teams were extremely close in total points, however it was Fire2Ice2 that nudged the Cryptic Goats for a 2nd place finish. Congratulations to Rich Wenning, Shawn O'Sullivan, Nancy Drenning and Brooke White of Fire2Ice2 as well as Marty Maehr, Jessica Ewing, Jim Herter and Larry Ho of The Cryptic Goats. Fire2Ice2 was coached by R.J. Meske and the Cryptic Goats were coached by Chrissy Hanna.
Although our employee team competition was smaller than previous years, our winning employee team still did a wonderful job. They had the fifth highest total of any Challenge team this year and the fourth greatest average percentage change. Congratulations Kathy Ernsberger, Jane Nieman, Trina MacInnis, Julie Chiavazza and coach Tim Dombrowksi.
This year's Challenge also introduced the opportunity for us to recognize the top three individual transformations. It should come as no surprise that two of our top three individual transformation's came from team ANMHE. With an average percentage change of 103, Shawna Jordan earned this year's greatest transformation. She was followed by fellow ANMHE teammate Timo Thomann-Rompf who averaged a 84 percent change. Finishing out the top three was Mike Turriff of team 99 Problems, with an average change of 82 percent.
On behalf of the entire Liberty family I would like to thank all of you who participated in this year's Transformation Challenge. We appreciate how hard you worked and the time you spent with us this winter. More importantly, we enjoyed getting to know you. We look forward to continuing to provide you with classes and programs that will help you continue your journey to a lifetime of health and wellness.

Parenting in a Digital Age
Is texting and social media hurting your child? During the month of April, Liberty will be hosting a workshop presented by Washtenaw Area Council for Children. The workshop will focus on the impact of digital connectivity on today's youth and their future. Trained facilitators will discuss social networking, your child's digital reputation, sexting, cyberbullying, online predators and privacy and ethics. Parents will be provided tools to help them keep their kids safe online.
The workshop will be available for our members on Saturday, April 13 at 12pm or on Tuesday, April 16 at 12pm. The workshop will be approximately one and one-half hours in length. Please register at the front desk, concierge or online.
While the workshop is complimentary, donations will be accepted throughout the month of April. You may place a monetary donation on your Liberty account. The suggested donation is $15; however, all donations will help support the mission of Washtenaw Area Council for Children. Make your donation at the front desk or in the TreeHouse and receive a complimentary pinwheel to give to a child that you love!
