Liz's story
|
This is Liz's second year as a member of TCR's Teen Performance Troupe. This year's final performance will take place this Friday, June 14th.
We're grateful to Liz and all of our Teen Troupe members for sharing their stories and lives with us this year.

Liz on stage with the Teen Performance Troupe in 2012
| "How do I carry on?
This is the question that haunted me in the wake of my father's death on March 1, 2010. I was mourning my dad's loss in the daily confusion of school, sports, and regular high school drama."
I hid away my feelings because I could not do justice with my words. I yearned to keep his memory alive and to find comfort and understanding in place of my anxieties.
I desperately needed a safe place to talk about my feelings and be heard. The Children's Room was everything I could have asked for and more.

Arielle (left) and Alex perform Arielle's original song
|
Thanks to our incredibly generous supporters, we exceeded our fundraising goal and added friends to our Circle of Hope giving community.
The morning began with an original song performed by Arielle and Alex, past members of our Teen Performance Troupe. The event was also an opportunity to recognize and thank our incredible Miles & Memories Marathon Team.

Jeff Keffer shares his family's story
|
Jeff Keffer, Board Member and alumni parent, delivered a moving and inspirational speech on how important The Children's Room has been to him and his family. He attended peer support groups at TCR with two of his children after the death of his wife Sandy. For Jeff, The Children's Room was a "gift of love" from his late wife - a gift that "sustains many grieving children, teens and parents, buoys them with hope and helps them to persevere." For everyone who sent invitations, hosted a table, gave a donation, or simply came and listened to our stories - your contribution will have a lasting impact on the children, teens, and families we serve. Thank you! |
