TCR Teens at Boston Celtics
| Thanks to the Highland Hoops program, a partnership between the Highland Street Foundation and the Boston Celtics, a group of 22 teens from The Children's Room had the opportunity to attend a recent Celtics game at TD Garden.

In addition to enjoying the game (which the Celtics won!), the teens were also treated to Celtics t-shirts and hats and vouchers for food and merchandise.
Teens from TCR's family-based peer support groups, Teen Performance Troupe, and high school support groups were all able to join together for this fun evening.
Thank you, Highland Street Foundation! |

Getting Ready for Marathon Monday
| |
The snow and cold are no match for the eight brave runners of TCR's 2013 Marathon Team. Training hasn't been easy, and we are so proud of all our dedicated runners!

2013 Miles & Memories Marathon Team
|
The Children's Room was excited to bring all eight runners together in January to meet each other and celebrate this year's team. Read our team's stories to be inspired and hear why each of them is committing to run the Boston Marathon to benefit TCR. With just under two months until Marathon Monday, the team has raised almost half of their fundraising goal. Help support them and the children and families of TCR by sharing their stories with others! |

The Children's Room: Where courage and community come together
Our newsletter name comes from the color of our house, Lionheart Yellow.
The lion represents courage, and the heart represents what binds us.
|
As I hear training stories from our runners, I'm reminded of some beautiful words Neil Fisher, TCR Board Vice President, shared at our Marathon kick-off gathering. The marathon journey shares many similarities with grief journeys - it seems impossible at times, but by moving forward step by step and leaning on your community of support, it is possible.
Unlike grief journeys, the marathon journey is a chosen one. I'm grateful for each one of our eight inspiring runners, and I wish them the best of luck as they continue their training for Marathon Monday.
Thank you for being a part of our journey,
