Tenure Track Assistant Professor, Sculpture
The Department of Art at San Francisco State University seeks candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Sculpture to begin Fall 2013.
Teach undergraduate studio courses (beginning through advanced level) in sculpture and interdisciplinary MFA seminars. Assist in development of curriculum in sculpture and 3D toward contemporary practices beyond traditional media. Maintain engagement in creative research and associated professional activities. Assist with studio maintenance and supervision of the sculpture facilities. Advising, curricular, department and university committee duties required.

The Conference Programming Committee has opened up the Call for Presenter Proposals and the Call for Panel Proposals for our 2014 conference in Minneapolis, both available through our website.
The theme of the conference is "Grains to Gold." Read more in each prospectus about the theme and what to include in your proposal.

28th Annual Made in California Call for Entries City of Brea Art Gallery This year's annual exhibition is juried by Meg Linton, Director of Galleries and Exhibitions at Otis College of Art and Design. Over $1,200 will be awarded in cash and prizes. All artists residing in California are eligible to enter. All mediums and genres accepted. Port of San Diego Public Art Project Connector is a new Port of San Diego public art project encourage artistic investigation of Port tidelands in the development of a temporary large-scale artwork that will travel to locations on tidelands in San Diego, National City, Coronado, Chula Vista and Imperial Beach.
The selected artist or artist team will create a dynamic, transportable artwork that transforms five unassuming spaces on tidelands in an imaginative and unexpected way. Art Budget: $275,000. Visit the Port's website for more information. Deadline: January 15

Humanities Medal Competition Judges Announced Chunghi Choo, Don Everhart, and George Anthonisen will be judging the submissions for the NEH National Humanities Medal. Read the October 29 Riveting News for more information about the competition.
Chunghi Choo is a jewelry designer, metalsmith and currently the F. Wendell Miller Distinguished Professor of Art at the University of Iowa School of Art and Art History.
Don Everhart is an American coin and medal engraver-medalist, and sculptor working for the United States Mint in Philadelphia.
George Anthonisen is a Bucks County, PA sculptor whose work is found in many permanent collections (l to r: Chunghi Choo, Don Everhart, George Anthonisen)

Model Maker at Tifffany's Responsible for all craft elements related to the construction and fabrication of production models for internal manufacturing. Responsible for the manufacturing of one-of-a-kind pieces as well as translating engineering changes into the physical production model. Translate design concepts into physical product, construct new production models and initial proto-type samples, analyze and define problems related to existing production models. Repair/refabricate production models. Coordinate all technical external efforts related to the finished product (setting/polishing/etc.) through the model shop. Other related duties as required. Must have: - Knowledge of all jewelry architectural construction and tools as well as precious metal properties
- Ability to read and interpret design renderings/engineering documents
- Able to use various tools (lathe, milling machine) related to the manufacturing/development process
- Able to communicate issues clearly to immediate supervisor as well as internal team
- Knowledge of stone and pearl properties, setting techniques and styles
- 5-10 years bench experience in a production/high end shop
