Traditionally, we have spent countless hours selecting and mailing a holiday card,
usually with a reindeer saying something clever to either Santa or
a disheveled Internal Revenue Service agent.
The cards are great fun to select and mail,
but we've been having so much fun with our new monthly email newsletters that
we thought we'd send a personal greeting we composed just for you -
no greeting card companies,
no clever advertising writers,
no holiday wishes ripped from a website.
This is from us here at
Wayland & Vukadinovich LLP,
thanking all of you for your business during the year and
wishing you the very best during this wonderful
Hermosa Beach holiday season.
A Tax / Holiday Season Poem
'Twas the day before tax season and all through our house
Not a computer was stirring, not even Mike's mouse.....
The Revenue Code was stacked in Gary's office with care....
In hopes that he'd use it, though we're not sure he'd dare.
When up front near Gina's desk arose such a clatter.....
Mike sprung from his desk to see what was the matter....
And what should we spy pounding on our front door
But a red-suited man with reindeer more than four
A box of receipts he carried under his arm
We certainly hoped he would come to no harm
Toys, electronics, and scores of great gifts
He hoped these investments would give him tax lifts
A refund he wished for, more dollars to spend
Would this poor man's tax return meet a grave end?
But Susan computed, and Shelly deducted
Midge checked the books while Deb reconstructed
Sonia amended, Nancy was incredible
Santa's refund arrived in full and on schedule
The lesson we've learned in this holiday season:
That while returns are required and refunds much needed
It's friends, clients, and family that should all be treated
With care, with love, and, of course, with good cheer
....And don't let your accountants near the holiday beer!
