Upon bec oming Manager of Graphics Production at the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) ten years ago, I was elated to have the opportunity to lead a talented team of 20. I immediately began asking myself and the entire department, should we be satisfied maintaining status quo? After all, things were going pretty well. Or should we strive to be better? My Vice President introduced to me and others some management principles from the book "Good to Great" by Jim Collins that proved transformational in leading our team.

Regional Lunch & Learn Proves a Huge Success
On December 5 IPMA held its first "regional" meeting in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Lunch and Learn session, sponsored by Kodak, was open to IPMA members and nonmembers. Tamara Hargrove with Arkansas Children's Hospital Administrative Support Group was instrumental in organizing the event. IPMA President Tony Seaman helped coordinate the educational session held at the Brandon Conference Center at Arkansas Children's Hospital. As part of the event, Kodak also gave attendees an overview of its plans for the future.

Attention CGCMs and CMMs Certified in 2008
 To maintain your professional status as a Certified Graphic Communications Manager (CGCM) and/or Certified Mail Manager (CMM) through IPMA, you must recertify every five years following your initial certification. Recertication is due for those who certified or recertified in 2008 by completing and returning the forms available on IPMA's website.
