Red School Calendar
Dear Parents,

Share Your Opinion About the School Calendar
We want to hear your opinion! Please take a moment to review the two proposed school calendars by clicking on the links below. The first version (August start) has a start date as Aug. 14, 2013. The second calendar (September start) has our start date as Sept. 4, 2013

August Start

September Start (with a full BASE program available until the first day of school)

If the September start calendar is approved by the Board of Directors, Ben Franklin Academy will offer a summer program for parents and students who need daycare options. The program would begin at 6:45 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. It will be staffed by Ben Franklin Academy employees.

After you review the calendars, click here to share your opinion. One selection per parent will be accepted.  The poll will close on midnight, tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 7. The board will review the results before they decide on the proposed calendar for the 2013-14 school year at the December meeting.

America's Sweetest School Contest

Box Tops Logo
Wouldn't $25,000 be grand for Ben Franklin Academy?! Help us win America's Sweetest School Contest from Box Tops! The school that has the greatest percentage increase over last year will win.  Last year was our first year collecting, so we could stand a great chance of winning.

How can you help?
  • Look for your favorite Box Tops products with Bonus or extra Box Tops. Anything clipped counts.
  • Clip your Box Tops and send them in by Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013.
  • For class parties, bring Juicy Juice boxes, Hefty plates and/or Scott napkins, and clip the Box Tops.
  • For classroom requests, bring in Kleenex tissues, Avery products and Boise paper.
  • Ask family, friends and co-workers who don't have kids in school for their Box Tops. You'd be surprised how happy they are to help.
  • If you bake from scratch, Gold Medal Flour and Land O'Lakes Butter carry Box Tops.
  • Remember, Box Tops are not just on cake mixes. They also are on Green Giant fresh and canned vegetables, Ziploc Bags, Hefty Trash Bags, Hefty tableware and more.
  • Don't forget: Send in your Box Tops at any time before they expire.
Box Tops are due this month on Wednesday, Dec. 19.

December Volunteer of the Month

Andrea Day
Our Volunteer of the Month for December is Andrea Day. Andrea is the president and founder of the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) and a Ben Franklin Academy Founding Family. Her hard work and dedication has helped to create the PAC and the wonderful programs they bring to our school, including community service projects, new family mentoring, Muffins with Moms and Donuts for Dads. Our school would not be the same without her contributions.

When asked what she likes most about Ben Franklin Academy, Andrea responded, "Aside from the terrific education our children are receiving, I am thrilled to serve alongside such selfless, talented and committed parents, teachers and staff!"

Thank you Andrea for all that you do!  Click here for more information.
