Seeds of Hope planted at All Saints', Highland Park
Members of All Saints' Church in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles put in a hard day's work on May 17 to turn their church grounds into a productive and beautiful community garden that will grow produce to be donated to local food banks. Staff of the Seeds of Hope initiative of the Diocese of Los Angeles assisted the parishioners in raising planting beds, building a walkway, and setting out plants. Seeds of Hope staff helped build a similar garden a week earlier at St. Stephen's Church in Hollywood, and is working on other projects throughout the diocese. For more information, contact Tim Alderson, executive director, at 213.482.2040. More photos are on the Seeds of Hope Facebook page. Photo / Payton Hoegh

All Saints Episcopal Church
132 N. Euclid Avenue, Pasadena

"And it has perhaps never been more important for us to know our story in order to both claim it and to proclaim it." Russell will lead a presentation and discussion of the Bible in general -- and what she calls the "clobber passages" in particular -- designed to equip participants to respond to Bible questions with love, compassion and information.
