IRIS offers legal services for those seeking citizenship Interfaith Refugee & Immigration Service (IRIS), a program of the diocese, is a member of the National New Americans Campaign, a groundbreaking national network of legal-service providers, faith-based organizations, businesses, foundations and community leaders that is paving a better road to citizenship. IRIS invites those who wish to apply for citizenship to do so now with their help. Why Apply Now?
- This week U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIC) released a new N400 Application for Naturalization form which is twice as long as the old version. Applicants have 90 days to get citizenship using the older and simpler N400.
- More income - new Americans see a boost in earnings of 8% - 11%.
- Critical elections will take place in 2014. Those who apply for citizenship in the next month will be able to vote for governor and Congress in the Fall.
Get started by calling IRIS for an appointment at 323.667.0489, ext 112 or 213.819.1890 (Spanish), or stop by the IRIS office, located at 3621 Brunswick Avenue, Los Angeles 90039, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday, for more information. Too far away? IRIS' Immigration Legal Services can come to you. Call Meghan Tumilty at 323.661.8588 for more information. Fee waivers for IRIS and USCIS are available for low-income applicants.
