Using Social Media to Increase Teens' Access to
Your Services Webinar

Calling community educators and outreach workers who want to create social media campaigns to reach adolescent clients!

More than 8 in 10 American teens look for health information online. Title X clinics have an opportunity to develop a vibrant and robust online presence to successfully reach adolescents. However, many public health agencies have little to no online presence, thereby missing these opportunities to reach potential adolescent clients.

Using Social Media to Increase Teens' Access to Your Services will offer up-to-date trends about how adolescents access health information that will help you identify key considerations when creating an effective social media outreach strategy. You will learn about helpful tools and guidance that will support you when creating a safe and engaging social media presence to help reach adolescents in your community. Register here.

Family Planning ICD Codes
New Job Aid: ICD-9/10 Crosswalk

This new coding tool from the Family Planning National Training Centers converts frequently used family planning diagnosis codes from ICD-9 to ICD-10. Some ICD-9 codes now map to multiple ICD-10 codes or have combined (approximate match) and may also require further secondary codes for specificity purposes. ICD-10 coding guidelines should be reviewed to ensure compliance with standardized regulations.

Low HPV Vaccine Rates: Are Providers More of a Barrier than Parents?

According to a new study, many physicians communicate with parents in ways that may discourage HPV vaccination, and tend to recommend the vaccine more for patients they perceived at high risk rather than recommending it for all of their patients. Researchers found that 26 percent of physicians said they don't provide timely recommendations for girls and 39 percent said they don't do timely recommendations for boys. Read more here. Learn about the benefits of the HPV vaccine here.

Medicaid has continued to grow and evolve since its inception 50 years ago. As the country transitions to accountable and value based care, states are seeking innovative solutions to control costs and improve the quality of care delivered. Join NACDD and Leavitt Partners as we take a look at Medicaid Programs and how they operate. Areas of focus for this webinar include:
  1. Medicaid Coverage:  How was coverage defined before the Affordable Care Act and how is it defined today?  What are the populations served and how are they defined?
  2. Programmatic Variations:  How is the program instituted?  How does one explore the web of variations that guide the Medicaid program such as waivers, financing, etc.?
  3. Stakeholder/Partnerships: How does one navigate the models of Managed Care Organizations, Accountable Care Organizations and other models?  What are the opportunities for engaging with MCOs and ACOs as partners in chronic disease prevention and control?  Where do public health practitioners begin?
This webinar will be structured as a lecture with a feature to gather questions for further exploration.  After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
