The STD/HIV/HepC Prevention Section will present a brief HepC review, including the disease prevalence in Montana, discuss CDC's screening recommendations, share experiences of indigenous outreach workers who educate corrections personnel about HepC, describe state reporting requirements, and report on exciting new treatment options.

Title X ACA Data Collection | | Required Title X ACA Data Collection
All Title X service sites are required to submit ACA outreach and enrollment data to The Office of Population Affairs (OPA), via WMHS, for the period of April 1, 2014 - March 31, 2015. Data are due to WMHS by April 15, 2015. A survey monkey will be sent to all Title X clinic Directors in mid-March.
A full description of the process, example tracker, measures, and details was emailed out to sub-recipient and satellite Directors on January 21st.

Pregnancy Intentions, Maternal Behaviors and Infant Health: Investigating Relationships with New Measures and Propensity Score Analysis, by Kathryn Kost and Laura Lindberg, Guttmacher Institute. The authors find that unplanned births are associated with less prenatal care and worse infant health, compared with planned births and call for greater attention to the consequences of unplanned childbearing. They also document disparities in outcomes among racial/ethnic groups and among the most highly desired pregnancies vs. all other categories of intendedness.
Recommendations for HIV prevention with adults and adolescents with HIV in the United States, 2014. The Project Workgroup comprised of CDC and other public and private groups issued these new recommendations. |
NFPRHA Membership Call | |
Policy & Advocacy Membership-Wide Call
Register today for NFPRHA's membership-wide call that will discuss the policy and programmatic aspects of Expedited Partner Therapy (EPT). EPT is an option for treating sexually transmitted diseases (STD), including Chlamydia and gonorrhea, that can improve women's sexual health and save money for publicly funded family planning programs. Presenters will provide an overview of the national legal landscape of EPT and how public health programs have worked with state legislatures to legalize the practice. Presenters will also discuss best practices for EPT implementation.
