I find it interesting that Jesus talked and referenced the fig tree more than any other tree.
I did not realise how many times Jesus referenced the fig tree, including
Cursing the fig tree in Mark 11:12-14 and 11:20-25 and Matthew 21:18-22
But when going to pick the figs Emma found the figs were not ready to pick. Is Jesus telling us He is about to return? As in the parable of Matthew 24:32-35. we find Jesus saying there are only leaves, but no figs.
On our fig tree we have leaves and figs. However our figs are not ready. Is Jesus telling us to get ready for His return? One thing is for sure. We are to keep praying, watching, and expecting Jesus at any time, so we will not be like the 5 foolish virgins, being half the church in Matthew 25:1. Who were not keeping watch and were not ready and were left behind.
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Matthew 24:42.
Being ready now, is expecting Him at any time, is obeying what Jesus command us to do, for when He does arrive which means we will not be caught of guard.
I am sad to know so many Christians who are more interested in the things of this life, rather than the things of God. They seem to put Jesus after the material things. I know so many Christians who want Jesus on the phone, but not on the throne. When I say to them I believe Jesus is coming very soon, they often tell me how late it is, and it is time for them to go home.
