Greetings!

Welcome Rev. Mary Tudela!
Tudela headshotRev. Mary Tudela has arrived on Kaua'i and will be leading Sunday services beginning on November 4, until (hopefully) a new rector is in place. A short bio about her appeared in a recent E-News that can be read HERE. Rev. Mary will be staying in the Rectory for a few weeks until her condo opens up at the end of the month. Hale Lani currently has a couple copies of her book, Walking in My Faith.  Aloha and welcome Rev. Mary!  We look forward to welcoming you into our ohana!

Robin Taylor
Reminder:  Although Rev. Mary will be celebrating our Sunday services, Rev. Robin Taylor of Christ Memorial will still be leading Wednesday Healing Services and is the person handling all "priestly" duties. Anyone desiring to have a pastoral visit, or would like to talk to a priest, Rev. Robin is available to you.  You may contact Chris in the office (822-4267) to get Rev. Mary's direct number.

*** SEARCH UPDATE ***
Senior Warden Galen Nakamura has advised that Canon Liz Beasley from the Bishop's Office has forwarded three potential candidates for our consideration. Junior Warden David Murray and Vestry members Dianne Tabura and Jan Hashizume have been asked to review the candidates whose names are being kept confidential. Galen asks "for your prayerful support of Dave, Dianne and Jan as they go about their work" and thanks them for "undertaking this critically important task."

Sesquicentennial Celebration Weekend
& Worshiping together on November 11
Sunday service begins at 9:00 am!
The final island celebration of the Sesquicentennial takes place on O'ahu on November 9 -11, with a grand line-up!  Along with a host of festivities, the 44th Annual Meeting of Convention will also take place on Saturday, November 10.  If anyone is going to be in Honolulu around that time, be sure to check out all of the public events taking place on Friday. Visit the diocesan web page HERE to view the schedule.

The closing event will be a Festival Eucharist on Sunday, November 11. All churches are urged to participate by worshiping together via live-stream coverage at the Cathedral of St. Andrew.  The service will begin at 9:00 am, and Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori will be celebrating and preaching.  All Saints' has arranged to have the service projected on a large screen in the church, and Communion will be given.

2013 Fall Stewardship Campaign: Growing Our Faith

Jan HashizumeAloha!
Our 2013 Stewardship Campaign has begun! Our Stewardship Campaign is a time to reach out and to reconnect to everyone in our congregation.  It is a time to ask, how you are doing?  How is the Church going for you?  It is also a time to ask everyone to prayerfully reflect on your time, talents and treasure.  And during the next few weeks we are asking that you prayerfully reflect on your giving and complete and return your pledge card.

We know that we can count on you to be gracious and open to our home visitors.  It will be a great learning experience for all of us.

The real treasure at All Saints' is what we already have --each other.  Let's join each other on this journey of "Growing Our Faith".

Blessings, peace and joy,

Blessed to be a Blessing Continues
Everyone invited!  Sundays after the second service
stewardship water dropThis week marks the fifth gathering of Blessed to be a Blessing, and everyone is invited to attend, even it's your first session!  It's a great time for sharing, reflection and growth that features a short writing from leaders  across the Episcopal Church each week.  Put together by the Episcopal Church, this 6-week series explores stewardship as a response to that week's lectionary reading from the Gospel of Mark. The gatherings take place after Sunday refreshments in Memorial Hall.  For more info, see Jan Hashizume or email her.

Annual Holiday Craft Fair Coming Up - December 1
SPACE IS FILLED!!!
craft fair 2010
This year's craft fair is the largest ever with nearly 50 spaces accounted for!  Vendors will be in the gym and under tents on the lawn on Saturday, December 1, from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.  Many thanks to St. Michael's for loaning their big tent! Not only will this be our biggest fair, but also the most varied, with a wide array of products. Be sure to get your holiday shopping done at this craft fair, and don't forget to come hungry too!  The Ke Akua Youth Group and ECW are pairing up to raise funds for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life next April, and all proceeds from the food booth and bake sale will go to that. Save the date and SPREAD THE WORD!!!
norfolk Christmas Tree Heads Up!
This year All Saints' is looking to light up a Norfolk pine tree that will return to its place outside of the church.  If anyone would like to donate one (before December 1), please let Chris Wataya know.  The green part of the tree should be approximately 6' - 7' tall.  Live trees are welcome.  If you are cutting one, the bare trunk will need to be long enough to be buried sturdily into the ground.  Mahalo!

Proper 26
Almighty and merciful God, it is only by your gift that your faithful people offer you true and laudable service:  Grant that we may run without stumbling to obtain your heavenly promises; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and for ever. Amen.
