Blessing of the Animals - October 7

Blessing of the Animals has returned to Sundays! Be sure to bring your pet to be blessed on Sunday, October 7, during the 9:30 am service. Rev. Daniel Leatherman will be on hand to bless our furry, finned or feathered friends! And if you can't bring your pet, bring a photo! |
Blessed to be a Blessing
Beginning this Sunday, October 7
All are encouraged to attend this six-week series of reflection and growth put together by The Episcopal Church. Each of the six Sunday reflections features a different writer from across the Episcopal Church, exploring stewardship as a response to that week's lectionary reading from the Gospel of Mark. The gatherings will take place after Sunday refreshments either in Memorial Hall or the Church. For more info, see Jan Hashizume or email her. |

Mahalo Clergy
Thank you Fr. Bob Walden for another great sermon! Coming up this Sunday, we welcome back Fr. David Leatherman who will also be leading the Blessing of the Animals service at 9:30 am. We are so grateful to all the clergy that have been coming to All Saints' while we are without a permanent rector.
Clergy for upcoming Sundays are as follows:
October 7 - Rev. Dan Leatherman
October 14 - Rev. Robin Taylor (Special Hawaiian Service at 10:00am)
October 21 & 28 - Fr. John Connell
November 4 - ? - Rev. Mary Tudela
Welcome to Kaua'i Rev. Mary Tudela! We are so blessed to have the Rev. Mary Tudela to lead our Sunday services beginning in November, and hopefully until we have a permanent rector in place. Rev. Tudela brings with her a wealth of experience in team building and executive management as well as congregational leadership from serving as Associate Rector of St. Michael's Church in Barrington, Illinois. She has a long list of accolades that includes honors from the Anti-Defamation League as a "Woman of Achievement" honoree and recognized by Hispanic Business Magazine as one of the "Top 100 influential Hispanics" in the USA. Rev. Tudela is relocating to Kauai from Barrington, Illinois, where she was the founding Executive Director at the Samaritan Counseling Center of the Northwest Suburbs. She will continue in her role as a congregational consultant, working "long distance" with clergy and congregations facing organizational challenges. Rev. Tudela has always worked tirelessly for the community in which she is a part, and in 2011, she published a book entited Walking in My Faith, where she encourages her readers to practice their faith in the workplace. She is pictured above with her two sons, Nicholas (a middle school teacher of special needs children) and Alejandro (a sophomore at DePaul University in Chicago). |

Proper 22
Almighty and everlasting God, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray, and to give more than we either desire or deserve: Pour upon us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things for which we are not worthy to ask, except through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ our Savior; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
