 I was in the Palm Springs area recently, when I happened to be on the freeway just as 75,000 Coachella-goers were making their way back to L.A. I snapped this pic of one particular carload of revelers, because what they'd scrawled across their rear window really captured my heart:
"I don't know what I'm doing!" How profound, I thought.
 This isn't some religious rant against rock concerts, or hippies, or even hippie-wannabes, for that matter. (Though I must admit, I hadn't seen so many of either since junior high.) No, quite the opposite. Whether intentional or not, I believe that rear window articulated the true heart-state of most of the folks you and I encounter every day, everywhere we go.
Jesus says... "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." (Luke 23:34 NIV)
Have we lost our compassion for the very ones Jesus died for?
If I let talk-show hosts and Facebook posts shape my theological worldview, I will conclude that the lost should know better.
But Jesus is healing the way I see the lost...
Lord, replace my stoney heart of judgement with Your heart of compassion. Deliver me from the need to be right, as You stoke my hunger to be righteous. Revive me, O Lord. I need a do-over.
Today is the National Day of Prayer. Our intercessor pals are our heroes. Their compassion for the lost feeds ours. They serve mostly behind the scenes and are often marginalized for being zealots. But in my estimation, we could all use a lot more zeal... On  this special day, may God teach us how to love one another from our prayer closets.

Important Postscripts... - Today is the 70th day of my 100-day/1,000-mile prayerwalk in preparation for our coming "homestretch." Keep praying.
- A significant change precipitated by this 100-day prayerwalk is the manner in which we now receive/accept love-offerings. This new tear-off giving form represents that change.
Though it certainly reflects our heart, it is not born of agenda, but obedience. Those who have been "backstage" in church finances will appreciate the incline of this faith-mountain.
Please pray that folks respond fearlessly and generously to the leading of the Holy Spirit, as God faithfully supplies our needs through the obedience of friends just as weak as ourselves.
