Right Around the Corner

Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him."

Sunrise

Although I truly desire to proclaim unwavering faith in God's promises at ALL times and in ALL matters, I must honestly admit that there are moments when little seeds of doubt try to creep into my thoughts. It could be in those instances when I am awaiting a doctor's prognosis or when a prayer has not been answered in MY timing. In those moments, I have learned to go to God in prayer with complete confidence in the One who is holding me in the palm of His hand. In addition to turning to Him in prayer, I spend time reading my Bible.

Do you realize how fortunate we are to have the complete story--from the beginning to the end--at our disposal? We know that Jesus' death was not in vain--we know that there was a purpose for all that occurred! We know that He arose from the dead.

BUT what about His disciples? Imagine how they felt on the day following Jesus' crucifixion and death. Were they experiencing those little seeds of doubt? Did they keep replaying all Jesus had told them to determine what would happen next? Did they wonder if this could possibly be the END?

On this tragic Saturday, I am sure the disciples spent much time reflecting on all that transpired and whether something good could result from something so bad. They must have wondered how the promise could be revealed through this tragedy???

I believe that a lot of our lives are spent in this "Saturday kind of place." Jesus warns us in John 16:33 that we will all face troubles in this life. However, how we pick up the pieces and move forward from our troubles IS what truly matters.

My challenge to you on this day between the tragedy and the promise is to BELIEVE--not halfheartedly--but with ALL of your heart that our God WILL work out all of the things you are NOW facing just as He did for the disciples. He has great plans for our future!

We just have to believe that Sunday IS right around the corner.

Dear Lord, thank You for giving us the Word of God as a guide for our lives. Thank You for Your provision and promises. I know that You love me and that no matter what I am going through, "joy comes in the morning" (Psalm 30:5).

I thank You Jesus for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
