Much has changed in the past two years, and I am so very grateful for the growth and expansion I see in my own life and the greater world we live in. The peoples' uprisings around the world sends strong waves of encouragement to us all, and my heart and love goes out to Istanbul and Brazil. I wonder.....when will the sheeple awaken in America? We shall see.......

Devotional Chanting
Over the Memorial Day weekend, here in the U.S., I attended an event that has been on my personal bucket list for many years - A 3 day kirtan experience with kirtan master, Krishna Das. Kirtan is call-and-response chanting accompanied by instruments such as the harmonium, tablas and cymbals. It is devotional chanting of mantras, performed in many Eastern religions. As a singer and mystic, I am drawn to music that uplifts the soul and is performed with the intent of healing. It was a wondrous experience, and my soul is filled with gratitude and love for Krishna Das and his band for facilitating a deeper awakening of my heart!

Krishna Das is the best known U.S. singer of kirtan-style devotional singing. LISTEN to this youtube video called "The Yoga of Chant <3 Heart Melting Devotion".
The kirtan retreat took place in a beautiful setting near Charlottesville, Virginia, called Yogaville, the home of The Light Of Truth Universal Shrine (LOTUS), the realization of Swami Satchidananda's universal teaching that "Truth is One, Paths are Many." Opened in July 1986, LOTUS is dedicated to the light of all faiths and to world peace, and embodies Sri Gurudev's efforts to foster religious harmony throughout the world.
Built in the shape of a lotus blossom - the ancient symbol for the spiritual unfoldment of the soul - the Shrine is a sanctuary for silent meditation, contemplation, and prayer. It is a place where people of all backgrounds and faiths can come together under one roof to honor individual traditions while realizing the ultimate spiritual unity of all.
