- Mesdames Debbi Mitchell with Vern's Catering, Tammy Gordon with the Port of Delcambre, and IPCVB volunteer Betty Romero for helping us promote Iberia at the National Assoc. of Counties Convention held July 14 in New Orleans. Attendees from all over the country loved the Delcambre shrimp we served!

- 20 journalists will visit our area on Aug. 8 as part of a post-trip FAM tour for Travel Media Showcase held in Lake Charles. They will be escorted by Kelly Strenge with the Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission. IPCVB will provide lunch.

Félicitations Monsieur Roy Pontiff, executive director of the Port of Iberia, who was honored at the 18th annual Iberia Parish Distinguished Citizen Dinner hosted by the Evangeline Area Council - Boys Scouts of America on July 24 at the Gouguenheim in New Iberia.

Last weekend, Gonsoulin Land and Cattle of Loreauville had a booth at the Louisiana Restaurant Association's trade show in New Orleans in partnership with Dickie Brennans. Shannon Gonsoulin also spoke at the Farm to Table Convention held at the same time.
On Aug. 27, Dickie Brennans Steakhouse will be hosting its second "picnic," in which a variety of Gonsoulin Land and Cattle grass fed beef products will be cooked by the Brennans chefs for tasting. This venue is open to the public and tickets are on sale

- The Azalea Garden Club will host its annual Horticulture Show in conjunction with the LA Sugar Cane Festival. It will be held Sept. 25-27, 2014 at the Cyr Gates Community Center in New Iberia. Entries may be brought in Thursday, Sept. 25 from noon-6 p.m. Judging will be Friday, Sept 26 at 10 a.m. The show will be open to the public Friday, Sept 26 from 2-4:00 pm and Saturday Sept 27 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. For more information, contact Versa Dore at 337-967-2401 or 337-364-9144, or Margaret Melancon at 337-560-1279.
