Madame Cathy Indest, president of Iberia Cultural Resources Assoc., invites you to New Iberia Beneath the Balconies this Saturday at 2 p.m. in downtown New Iberia.

  • Félicitations/ Congratulations to Clementine's for winning first place in the Professional Division/Melange; and Team TABASCO for winning second place in Professional Division/Chicken and Sausage and Professional Division/Seafood, at the World Championship Gumbo Cookoff. See all the winners here.

 

  • The Grand Marais Mardi Gras Assoc. is looking for judges for its Southern Soulfood Showdown and Mardi Gras costumes contest. Contact Tina Olivier, oliviertina1962@yahoo.com, 337-339-8654.
  • On October 26, special guest pianist Jim Allen will perform at Showtunes Sing-Along and New Iberia Beneath the Balconies. Allen has been playing piano at Marie's Crisis Cafe for the past 25 years, has memorized up to 16,000 songs, and has acquired a dedicated following in Greenwich Village, New York City.
 
  • Do you have information on the Glass Front dancehall, which was located across the street from Bertrand Lumber Company on Main Street in New Iberia? If you do, please contact Prof. John Sharp at the Center for Louisiana Studies. See the picture of a dance ticket he posted on his facebook page.
