Disabled Albertans see grants boosted to improve homes' accessibility Albertans with disabilities will be eligible for more funding to improve their homes' accessibility, the province announced Monday. Grants have been raised to $7,500 annually, up from $5,000, under the Residential Access Modification Program, Naresh Bhardwaj, associate minister of services for persons with disabilities, said Monday. Tax Measures for Persons with Disabilities This video series is intended to help individuals with disabilities, or the people who support them, find answers to some of the key questions related to tax measures that may apply to them. Some of the topics covered are: the disability tax credit and the disability amount; medical expenses; and the Registered Disabilities Savings Plan, to name a few. Quanto's Law The proposed amendment is meant to protect all animals - primarily dogs and horses - that help in police and military work and assist people with disabilities as service animals. On June 1, 2014, Scotiabank will be holding their annual Scotiabank Calgary Marathon. This year, CPA (Alberta) will be entering teams to help raise money for our programs and services. We are looking for people to run, walk, wheel (power or manual chair), or bike in this year's 5K event. You can register as an individual, a team or donate to someone else who is participating.
