At TEAM Punta Gorda we utilized the talents of over 500 volunteers this past year. It occurred to us that our volunteers work mostly in teams on community projects and do not necessarily know others beyond their group.
We want to give you, our volunteers, the opportunity to feel as if you are a part of a larger unified effort and to know that your work matters.
Therefore, we've scheduled the first TEAM membership mixer on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at the Captain's Table Fishermen's Village from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Light appetizers will be served. There will be a cash bar, raffle prizes and good company. You are encouraged to bring a friend. Non-members are encouraged to come get to know the TEAM. Hope to see you there!

TEAM's New Membership Program
| New Logo for 2015 |
At the Annual Meeting, TEAM Punta Gorda launched a new membership program designed to further its outreach initiatives and encourage more citizens to get involved in helping make the community a better place to live, work and play.
It's easy - you can join online at www.teampuntagorda.org or at the TEAM Office. Membership is $25 per year for individuals, $50 for businesses. Members receive a signature mug, recognition on TEAM's website, and other benefits. Those who join in the month of February will be entered into a drawing for 2 tickets to enjoy any one of King Fisher Fleet's pleasure cruises. King Fisher cruises include Cabbage Key, Cayo Costa, Boca Grande and several other popular adventures.
"We feel strongly that this provides an effective way for more of our residents to become involved in the work we do," says CEO Nancy Johnson. "Membership cost is nominal but it will help support the many volunteer projects we have ongoing; many are important cooperative efforts between TEAM, the Chamber of Commerce and the City. Just as important is the fact that we are creating an expanding roster of talented people we can draw upon for new ideas and help as we continue to nurture and promote our community."
TEAM hopes you will join today.

Bicycle Loaner Program Update
Welcome to two new volunteers, Kathy and Jim Mays, who will be helping with this important program. Did you know that last year we had over 5,000 riders? There are 40 bikes in six different locations in our community!
This year there are plans to replace and refurbish the entire fleet. We are also looking at planned professional maintenance on them and there are other ideas in the works.
Join in the planning process!

And the Beautification Award goes to...
This year's Beautification Award is given to Dr. Markgraf Dental Office in recognition of the attractive architecture and landscaping that has been so well-maintained over the years. Congrats for keeping our community looking so nice. By the way, there was a slight delay in the Old Courthouse landscaping project because of construction on a handicap addition. Suzanne McCormick and her TEAM should be ready to start soon! They are also hard at work maintaining the lovely plants and flowers in the baskets. Note to self and reminder to host businesses - don't forget to water the plants!

Maritime Committee
TEAM committee members were instrumental in organizing a boat manufacturer owner's meeting in Punta Gorda scheduled for May 16-17, 2015. Activities will include a small boat show, fishing tournament, and awards dinner.
They are working with the Laishley Marina Tackle Shop to organize children's fishing pier tournaments in March and June. The Committee is also exploring projects involved in conservation. To that end, the Chair had a meeting with Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program and will be discussing a proposed project with the Committee. The group also plans to focus on harbor conservation this year. They have been meeting with local environmental groups to develop several joint projects.
