Happy New Year!
Message from TEAM CEO
As I reflect on 2014 and look forward to 2015, I am filled with gratitude for you, TEAM volunteers who accomplish so much for our town. You are the engine that drives it all!
Do you know that besides the retired professionals who make up our committees that we have many young volunteers who fit our projects in after work and between family obligations? There are many snowbirds, too, who make time to help us when they are in town. There are also high school students who give us a hand. The reason that TEAM can do all of this year after year and remain an "all-volunteer" organization is because we also have an amazing team of office and financial management volunteers behind the scenes. They, too, give generously with their time and are unsung heroes of the more visible community work that we do.
Don't miss our annual meeting on Thursday evening, January 29. See the article below for more information. Hope to see you there!

Golf Outing
| Dedicated to Judy Brentano |
It's not too early to sign up for TEAM Punta Gorda's 10th Annual Golf Tournament and there is a bonus if you do it before January 15. You'll get a $10 discount on your entry fee!
The tournament will take place on Saturday, March 21, at St. Andrews South Golf Club in Punta Gorda which has hosted the tournament throughout its 10-year run. It'll be a day of great golf with great prizes in support of a great organization. Revenue from this event supports a significant portion of our all-volunteer organization's yearly budget. This year's tournament is dedicated to the memory of its originator, Judy Brentano, former TEAM CEO and COO.
The TEAM Golf Committee is seeking additional volunteers to help with preparing for and staging the event. Volunteers with experience in soliciting donations from local businesses and organizing silent auction and 50/50 raffle items are requested to send email messages to the Golf Committee Chairman, Ed Bouton at ed.bouton@gmail.com or to call Ed at 703-599-5401.
You can find out more and sign up by going to www.teampuntagorda.org. Register and pay via credit card online, or download an entry form and send it with your check to TEAM Punta Gorda, 252 W. Marion Ave., Punta Gorda, FL 33950.

Punta Gorda 2015 GMP Growth
Florida Tax Watch Research puts Punta Gorda in the top 10 predicted 2015 Gross Metropolitan Product Growth (in percent).
According to the non-partisan research group, Florida Tax Watch, "As we begin 2015, Floridians have plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the economy. After a year of solid job growth, declining unemployment, and high consumer confidence, the Florida economy is expected to continue to strengthen in 2015. Florida's real gross state product is projected by the University of Central Florida (UCF) to grow 2.7 percent, with IHS Global Insight estimating 3.7 percent growth, and J.P. Morgan Chase projecting an even higher 4.2 percent. All three reports expect Florida to grow faster than the nation." Punta Gorda placed 10th of communities included in the study. Naples/Marco Island was No. 1. Link to article:
