Street Closures August 25-31

MTV will be shooting on S. Broadway between 8th and 9th Street on Sunday, August 30th for the MTV Video Music Awards. This section of the street will be affected from August 25-31. Some amplified sound will be heard on August 29th in the late afternoon. On August 30th, there will be some additional sound in the afternoon followed by a shoot from 6-8:00 p.m. Sidewalks will remain open during filming. Click here for additional information.

Safe Team Helps Stop Burglary

Earlier this month the LA Fashion District BID Safe Team helped LAPD Newton Police Department stop a burglary. The Safe Team was called on the scene after the tenant was notified by her alarm company that there had been a break-in. Upon their arrival, Safe Team officers were able to apprehend one of the burglars. The safe the burglars were trying to steal fell out of the getaway vehicle as it tried to speed away and was recovered. Newton PD commended the Safe Team for their great work.

CCA LADWP Presentation
Central City Association (CCA) invites the Fashion District to attend a LADWP presentation by General Manager Marcie Edwards on Wednesday, September 2, 8-9:30 a.m. Come learn about the revenue requirements needed to improve the Department's aging infrastructure, continue the power supply transformation to meet mandates, expand the local water supply, and improve customer service. Night on Broadway Call for Artists
Bringing Back Broadway is accepting proposals for its 2016 Night on Broadway event, to be held on S. Broadway from 3rd Street to Olympic Boulevard. Selected acts will perform in one of the Broadway theatrical venues, on the festival stage, or within the street festival area.
