Hidden Gem: Pskaufman Opens in the Fashion District

Hidden underneath the floorboards of an old hotel, veteran shoe designer Paul Kaufman has been quietly operating what is quite possibly the raddest new shoe store in Downtown LA. He is the founder and designer of Pskaufman, a line of industrial inspired, fine leather shoes and boots for men and women. Steve Aoki "LAoki" Concert, Saturday, May 16

Please save the date for the upcoming LAoki Show scheduled for Saturday, May 16. This live concert will take place on Broadway between 3rd and 7th Street from 8PM-11PM. All buildings within the event's street closure perimeter will be completely accessible and all sidewalks will remain open to pedestrian traffic for the duration of the event. Please be aware that all parking lots located on Broadway between 3rd and 7th Streets WILL NOT BE ACCESSIBLE DURING THE EVENT.

Below is a brief description of the street closures. See this event map and road closure schedule for more details.

North-South Streets

Broadway closed between 3rd and 7th Street

6AM SATURDAY (MAY 16) - 6AM SUNDAY (MAY 17)

East-West Streets

4th, 5th, & 6th Streets closed between Hill and Spring Street

3PM SATURDAY (MAY 16) - 12:01AM SUNDAY (MAY 17)

Shop Craft & Party Supplies at Wholesale Prices

CB Flowers and Crafts is a wholesale craft store open to the public. The family-owned business has been operating out of the Fashion District for over 20 years and supplies craft and party supply stores across the country, specializing in bridal accessories and religious ceremonies. Because they are such a large wholesale vendor, the selection is huge and most items are available in all colors and a variety of styles. Looking for supplies, but not sure where to start? The New Mart Launches New Mart Network on YouTube
The New Mart launched "New Mart Network", an interview series with some of the biggest names in fashion that aims to promote the LA fashion industry and businesses who are part of it. Past interviews have included Peter Kim of Hudson Jeans and Deborah Pollakus of Moda 360. Fashion District Executive Director, Kent Smith and Marketing & PR Manager, Ariana Gomez will be featured in an upcoming video. See the interviews, here.

Mad Men Celebrates Season Finale at Ace Hotel Sunday, May 17
In a special event presented by Film Independent and AMC, Jason Reitman will lead a mystery all-star cast in a Live Read of the Mad Men season one finale "The Wheel". Following the Live Read, Matthew Weiner and cast will introduce and screen the series finale of Mad Men. 60's and 70's garb is encouraged and martinis will flow.
