Weekend Plans: Sample Sale Friday, The Makeup Show, Concerts, and The Theatre at Ace Hotel Tour


 

It's a busy weekend at the Fashion District with events taking place Friday through Sunday. The weekend kicks off with Sample Sale Friday taking place in the designer showroom buildings on 9th and Los Angeles Streets. The SoCal Etsy Guild has partnered with the California Market Center (CMC) to host a pop-up market during sample sales. On Saturday,The Makeup Show takes over the CMC. The two-day beauty industry event is expected to attract thousands to the area. Meanwhile The Orpheum theatre will be hosting Amy Schumer and The Pink Floyd Experience, and Ace Hotel will host the first public tour of The Theatre at Ace Hotel (formerly United Artists Theatre) since the venue's restoration. 


LA Fashion District 2015 Prom Dress Shopping Guide



The Fashion District has over 40 prom dress stores open to the public, with the majority of stores located around the six blocks of Santee Street between Olympic Boulevard and 14th Street. Where to Shop First Communion Gowns & Accessories
First Communion and baptism gowns can typically be found on Maple Avenue near Santee Alley, but the largest selection of dresses is at Three's for Me, located at 1055 Maple Ave. They offer discount package deals and additional discounts for Yelp users. More about the store.
