Fashion District BID and Designers Featured in THE DREMS Magazine Fashion Issue
The LA Fashion District BID was featured in the Fashion Issue of THE DREAMS Magazine, a lifestyle magazine targeting affluent markets in Southern California with over 100,000 readers. The 6-page spread featured an interview with BID Executive Director Kent Smith and highlighted district retailers, showrooms, and buildings. The issue featured 15 LA Designers, three of which were pitched by the BID - Bri Seeley, and Daniel Patrick, and Remy Leather. The BID routinely directs press to businesses and designers in the area, as reporters often come to us for references
Deputy Chief Jose Perez and Command Staff Meet with Downtown BIDs
On April 9th, Deputy Chief Jose Perez and Central Command Staff met with Downtown BID leaders. The meeting was requested by Chief Rodriguez, organized by the Fashion District and hosted by Steve Needleman, ANJAC. The meeting was a meet and greet for new Central Command staff including Commander Robert Arcos, Assistant Chief Jorge Villegas, Captain Mike Oreb, Captain Don Graham, and Captain Michael Rimkunas, and an opportunity for the BIDs to ask questions and gather information.
"Framework" and "Ellen's Design Challenge" Contestants Display Furnishings at LA*SHO this Weekend
Participants from two TV furniture building competitions - Spike's "Framework" and HGTV's "Ellen's Design Challenge" - will be displaying their work this weekend at the Fashion District's Think Tank Gallery. LA*SHO is the West Coast counterpart of F*SHO, an annual furniture show based in Cleveland founded by Jason Radcliffe, a former "Framework" contestant. A Taste of Downtown Annual Gala at the Cooper Building The Cooper Design Space, located at 860 S Los Angeles St. in the Fashion District, will be hosting Artwalk's "A Taste of Downtown" Annual Gala on Saturday, April 18. The Downtown Art Walk is a self-guided, public art event that brings together art lovers and community friends to Downtown Los Angeles. LADOT Debuts New Parking Signs The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) is debuting a six-month pilot program for "more readable" parking signs. The new signs are being tested in Downtown, along Spring and Main Streets between Second and Ninth. Read more on Curbed LA.
