BID Safe Team Partners with LAPD to Stop Alcohol Sales at 9th and San Pedro
Market Grocery at 968 S San Pedro St. will no longer be selling alcohol thanks to the teamwork between the BID Safe Team and the Los Angeles Police Department. The BID has worked incessantly to stop liquor sales at Market Grocery as the alcohol sales at this establishment have been the cause of many a nuisance for business and property owners in the area. Even while the market was under scrutiny by both LAPD and the BID, BID Safe Team officers made 175 contacts with individuals drinking in public who admitted purchasing their alcohol from Market Grocery.
BID Operations Director Randall Tampa attended three zoning commission hearings and provided compelling evidence that assisted Newton Vice in convincing the owners to surrender their liquor license.
LA Fashion Market Week, March 16-19
LA Fashion Market week returns to the Fashion District March 16-19, with select showrooms open for preview Sunday, March 15. Designer showrooms will be debuting Fall 2015 collections. Fashion District BID Staff Attend CDA Annual Conference  This week, LA Fashion District staff attended the California Downtown Association (CDA) Conference in Santa Monica. Business Improvement District professionals from all over the state attended the conference to learn and discuss issues and legislation affecting downtowns, and share best practices. Fashion District BID Executive Director Kent Smith presented a session on social equity and Marketing & PR Manager Ariana Gomez presented on marketing in the digital age. Managing Director Rena Leddy was a key event organizer.
Santee Courtyard Sale this Sunday, March 15
Santee Village residents are hosting an urban yard sale this Sunday, March 15th,
11a-3p. Dozens of residents will be selling their used goods and shoppers will be treated to a live DJ. We hear there will also be tacos.
