A Retreat for the Development of Christian Leaders
Via de Cristo is based on the fundamentals of Christianity, concentrating on the person and teachings of Jesus Christ and works to communicate and reinforce basic Christian truths. The objective of the movement is to inspire, challenge and equip local church members for Christian action in their homes, churches and communities. Ultimately we want to win the world for Christ!
The Via de Cristo weekend is a three-day experience in living in a Christian community in a retreat setting. It begins with a Sendoff early Thursday evening and ends with a Closing late Sunday afternoon. The major focus of the weekend is a series of fourteen talks, five given by Lutheran pastors and nine by laypersons. Each of these talks is followed by small group discussion. The pastor's talks are aimed at a better understanding of the breadth and depth of God's grace, while the lay talks deal with different aspects of our response to that grace. The weekend also includes morning and evening worship services each day, communion, music, laughter, prayer, and good food.

Items Looking for a New Home
Living Word Lutheran Church, Arlington,TN has several items in need of a new home. " The items we have are a baptismal font, a communion set (no glasses), four torches, and a couple of free-standing flag poles. These items would be free to another congregation. We would have to work out with them how they would get delivered. None of these things are new but they are all in good condition. I have attached some pictures. The torch/candle picture is not the actual torch, but we have four others like it that we don't use", says Living Word members, Linda and Gary Proseus. The Poseus' may be reached at 901-386-6379 or proseus@bellsouth.net.
