ABC is hosting a field clinic at the Westwood high school practice field for ball players who are not scheduled to play in the ABC World Series games.

Baseball - A - Palooza 2013 & used equipment drive/collection

Prior to each spring season, the ABC staff and I invite families (players, parents, guests) to hear from a distinguished panel of guest speakers as they share insight and anecdotes designed to help you "Advance Your Craft". This classroom session has become of highlight of the pre-season. I will be your host and have prepared a series of relevant questions that are sure to keep your interest at it's peek.
We will be collecting baseball equipment to support a baseball ministry in Zimbabwe (more details to follow). Set your DVR's to record the NFL game and make it a priority to attend. Below are a few of the speakers scheduled to attend:
- Austin High School varsity baseball coach, Billy Brown - Coach Brown will be sharing about excelling at the varsity level; tips for tryouts; Do's & Dont's for players & parents; and giving insight into the mind of a varsity baseball coach.
- Sports Speed Austin, director of advanced athletic training, Nate Turner - Coach Turner will be sharing tips and strategies for developing strength, flexibility and developing into an over all better athlete.
- Collegiate umpire and founder of UmpHub, Jonathan Davis - Mr Davis will be providing you a unique perspective into the game through the eyes of an umpire. Pitchers, did you know that when you......Hitters, did you know that when you......I will be asking Mr Davis to share with you how your actions (body language) on the ball field can affect the outcome.
- Therapy Central director and founder, Ken Moench - Ken is a regarded as one of the elite sports therapist (deep tissue) and has worked with dozens of professional athletes and baseball players. His insight into pre-hab can provide career saving information and he will help educate you on what adjustments you need to be making now related to your workout & recovery routine.
- Jack Selman, father of high school standout, Division 1 baseball player, 2nd round draft pick and minor league Pitcher of the Year - I have asked Jack to join us to share his unique insight into the high school, collegiate and professional baseball world. He will be speaking from the heart and I am confident you will appreciate his perspective on what he describes " The Process". He will touch and inspire parents and players alike.
- Jordan Danks, Chicago White Sox - I have asked Jordan to join our panel to talk "All Things Baseball". After we conclude the Q&A portion of the workshop Sunday, Jordan and I will host a brief "hitting seminar" where Jordan will be talking about the recipe of a Major League swing and giving us a first hand view of the mechanics of his swing.
I will be following up with a registration e-mail with more specific information including directions and a place for you to indicate how many will be attending in your family (you are also welcome to forward registration e-mail to a friend). I will also include more info regarding the equipment drive for the baseball ministry in Zimbabwe.
