The Austin Baseball Club has a passion to Inform, Instruct and Inspire. We don't teach How to play, we teach How to be a better player. The ABC staff is made up of former professional baseball players (and coach), MLB scouts and former collegiate ball players who have a passion for the game and want each family to have a great experience. We believe in the game of baseball and the impact it can make on young men in the areas of discipline, maturity, and life lessons.
ABC focuses solely on your high school baseball preparation, experience, and reaching your goals for playing at the next level:
High school prep (14U), Varsity Prep (15U/16U), Varsity Edge (17U/18U), and our renown College Placement program that has helped close to 200 ball players (and counting) achieve their goal of playing college baseball.* ABC teams begin the fall of 8th grade year; nothing younger.

ABC participants can expect a first-class program that focuses on the following:

Technical skills development (fundamentals & mechanics)
  • weekly indoor skills training sessions hosted at Baseball Solutions indoor training academies (north & south) hosted by the ABC professional instructors and staff. Ex: Throwing Dynamics & Arm Strength development, pitching instruction, catching instruction, defensive skills, hitting instruction, Speed.Agility.Quickness, etc
  • ABC members have unlimited use of indoor academies for extra reps, muscle memory drills, etc
Tactical skills development  (knowing "where to be" & when)
  • weekly team field practice session covering a curriculum of team fundamentals (ex: cut-off's & relays, bunt coverages, pick off's & run downs, ect). Fungo reps (fly balls and ground balls), In & Out, simulated games, etc.
  • field practice sessions are modeled after a typical high school field practice (ex: structured warm-up, In & Out, team fundamental, fungo, conditioning, etc)
Physical skills development (Speed.Agility.Quickness; strength)
  • ball players must get stronger; become more agile; improve their speed & quickness, ect. The ABC High School Prep curriculum includes SAQ training during weekly indoor workouts. We focus on core strength development and arm care.
Mental Skills development (approach; handling adversity, etc)
  • topical "class room" workshops designed to help players understand how to develop an approach at the plate, on the mound and on the ball field. It is critical that a ball player learn how to handle adversity, process success & failure, and stay even-keel.

ABC will leverage the strengths of a staff made up of over a dozen coaches to ensure that each ball player receives maximum instruction, reps, and skills development

Typical weekly schedule - ABC ball players can expect to have three training opportunities each week

  • one scheduled team practice on the ball field - our desire is to have the boys on the field as a team at least once a week for a team practice. This afford's us an opportunity to begin to work through a curriculum of skills necessary for weekend tournament success, but most importantly, success at the high school level
  • two scheduled indoor workout sessions each week- weekly indoor workouts will consist of exposure to the following workshops: SWINGTHERAPY, Arm Care, Pitching instruction, Catching instruction, Boot-Camp, etc.
  • optional workout training sessions.

*each ABC ball player will have unlimited access and use of both Baseball Solutions indoor academies for extra reps, drills, and one on one instruction at any time

Game Day experience - Our goal is to be on the field in uniform three weekends each month during the season. ABC accepts invitations to participate in many of the premier baseball events in central Texas and Nationally. We play quality baseball, in a quality venue, against quality competition, close enough to commute:

  • ABC varsity level teams (17U/18U) play on a college campus each game day weekend. ABC is a charter member of the CenTex collegiate series hosted by Texas Baseball Tournaments (TBT). ABC participates in the Perfect Game National Championship events as well as the Texas Showcase League (TSL).
  • ABC sub-varsity level teams (15U/16U) play in premier central events hosted in central Texas venues (areas high schools, county complex, etc). ABC is a charter member of the TBT centex varsity prep series.
  • ABC high school prep teams (14U) participate in Super Series events, Texas Baseball Tournaments events (TBT) and coordinate games with premier baseball academies and teams from around central Texas.

I am confident that you will find the type of flexibility your family and ball player needs when it comes to scheduling & participation. We are familiar with many of the scheduling challenges and have already begun to make appropriate concessions.
