Each year, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce recognizes the men and women who make Chapel Hill-Carrboro a thriving, healthy and sustainable community. The Salute to Community Heroes awards express the Chamber and its Partnership for a Sustainable Community's efforts to recognize and encourage volunteerism and selfless service.

Save the date for the festive Salute to Community Heroes presented by AT&T, 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12 at University Mall. The Salute is free and open to the public and is sponsored by AT&T, The UPS Store, Glee and Bliss, and The Word Factory.

Nominate a Business of the Year

Nominations for the 2013 Business of the Year Awards are now open. Submit nominations online before 5 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014. Business of the Year award winners will be revealed at the 2014 Chamber Annual Meeting, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30 at The Friday Center. Register online.
