Registration Open for 2013 Trash-Off
 The City of Beaumont will host its annual citywide litter pick-up on Saturday, April 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will be held in conjunction with the Texas Trash-Off, a statewide event that draws tens of thousands of volunteers each year. Materials will be available at registration sites in each ward, and breakfast and lunch will be provided. Clean-up areas will be located near each ward's designated registration site. Free Tax Help Available for Qualifying Families
Lamar University's Community Outreach Program will hold a Super Tax Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Willard Library. The event will include free tax preparation and electronic filing. Qualifying families or individuals must have a gross income less than $50,000 per year. The Willard Branch is located at 3590 East Lucas Drive. The event is part of an ongoing program to provide free tax assistance through April 13. For times, days, and locations, click below.

Pet of the Week
 This week's pet is Dez, a senior-age male Shih-Tzu. He is neutered, and has a flea allergy that is easily treatable. Dez loves attention!
The city animal shelter is located at 1884 Pine St., and is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
