Beginning in June of this year, all newly purchased Arts Trust license plates will feature the Indiana Arts Commission's new logo as part of a bolder, refreshed design.
 
Arts Trust license plates are available at any branch office of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles and can also be ordered online at http://www.in.gov/bmv/2793.htm. Every purchased or renewed license plate generates $25 for the Indiana Cultural Trust Fund, which helps provide additional support for arts education programs in Indiana. This show explores alternative firing techniques. The unique charm of this artwork is revealed in unpredictable surface colors and patterns found on the pottery resulting from the combination of glaze, fire, and smoke used in many firing techniques. These designs coupled with mirrors as a new viewing platform create a unique art experience.

Summer Sundown Music Series

What could be better than listening to some great local musicians jamming on a Sunday evening? Join your friends and bring the kids and a picnic to the banks of the beautiful Wabash River at Little Turtle Waterway in downtown Logansport.

This event runs every Sunday evening from 7:00-8:00 from the Sunday before Memorial Day to the last Sunday in August and is free to the public.

Two local well known abstract artists come together for one exhibit: Heidi Harner and Sara Vanderkleed's exhibit opens at Artists' Own, 518 Main Street, Lafayette on Tuesday, June 30 and runs through August 8.

Harner and Vanderkleed both have a love for lines, shapes and texture. Harner is working with a variety of media. Vanderkleed continues her exploration of shapes with a colorful palette.

Melissa Fraterrigo of the Lafayette Writers' Studio will be teaching two week-long creative writing camps this summer at Morton Center.

The camp for writers grades 5-7 begins July 7.

Both camps will offer young writers a place to generate ideas, write, and revise a group of poems, short fiction, or memoir.

Civil War Lecture: Terrible Swift Sword: The Trial, Sentencing, and Fate of the Lincoln Conspirators

While assassin John Wilkes Booth was killed in a gunfight, nine other individuals were ultimately charged in the conspiracy surrounding Lincoln's murder. Lecturer Scott Schroeder gives a narrative summary of the conspirators' trial, as well as the events and controversies surrounding the trial proceedings.

The Monticello-Union Township Public Library is hosting its 8th Annual Broadway Art Show July 24-26.

Over 60 artists will exhibit their artwork. The public will enjoy a diversity of paintings, pottery, jewelry, photography and more.
