Latest e-Safety news from SWGfL                                              Cymraeg
Hello and welcome to our November edition,
With half-term behind us we are now looking forward to Christmas with all the excitement, and stress!, that it can sometimes bring.
This month is Anti-bullying month so we have some Cyberbullying resources for schools in Wales. We hope you have also seen our app competition for Safer Internet Day 2016 - calling young people aged 5-18 to create their own apps.  But hurry as the deadline of 30 November is looming.
There is also lots of new information about Safer Internet Day and how you can get involved and support the day. We hope you find this issue informative. To share your feedback email us at esafety@swgfl.org.uk

Have you heard of our app competition for Safer Internet Day? Deadline for        entries - 30 November 2015!
This month we have added lots of new information on Hwb about Safer Internet Day - key messages and  information, as well as how to register as a supporter.
For our app competition for young people aged 5 to 18 we have more about the brief, some ideas to inspire young  people, tools they can use and tips from our judges. Don't forget - the entries must be in by 30 November
Record month - 100 new schools register for 360 Cymru
360 safe Cymru is the tool we developed in partnership with Welsh Government to allow schools in Wales to self-review their e-Safety provision and work to a plan of improvement. We are very proud to share that since it launched in Wales in Oct 2014 we have over 800 schools registered and in October we hit a record 100 new registrations! Access it from the top black bar when logged into Hwb and register your school today.
FREE e-Safety training for schools under way!
In partnership with Welsh Government, SWGfL are offering 2 days of free e-Safety training via every Local Authority in Wales. We have run training already in Neath Port Talbot, the CSC LAs, Torfaen, Flintshire and Swansea. The training is available to schools and LA safeguarding teams. Don't miss out - check dates in your LA and book now!
Digital Literacy topic in November - cyberbullying

Our Digital Literacy topic for November is Cyberbullying. As it is Anti-Bullying Week this month (16-20 Nov) we have created 4 playlists on Hwb that schools can use to have sessions around cyberbullying. These are based on the Digital Literacy Resource for Wales. There is an Introduction playlist, a Primary, a Secondary and one with resources for parents and carers. To find them search for 'cyberbullying' when logged into Hwb
Case study: Sandfields Comprehensive in Port Talbot

Paul Watkins, from Sandfields Comprehensive School in Port Talbot shares his school's experience of piloting the Digital Literacy Resource and the impact and changes it has led to. To share your experience of using the 360 safe Cymru tool  on Hwb or the Digital Literacy Resource email us at esafety@swgfl.org.uk.
Please remember to forward and subscribe and that you can find more e-Safety information on the Hwb e-Safety Zone . This newsletter forms part of our ongoing partnership with Welsh Government to raise awareness and support e-Safety at schools across Wales.

Sincerely

the SWGfL e-Safety Team
