NEW OCCUPATION LISTS OUT!!

Occupation Lists for Migration Programme Year 2016/17
Effective 1 July 2016

Out a little early this year, the occupation lists for programme year 2016/17 have a few small changes. Additions to the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) include:
  • Orthotists and Prosthetists [251912]
  • Audiologists [252711]
and even more leaving the list are:
  • Mining Engineers (excluding petroleum) [233611]
  • Petroleum Engineers [233612]
  • Metallurgists [234912]
  • Environmental Health Officers [251311]
  • Occupational Health & Safety Advisers [251312]
  • Dental Hygienists [411211]
  • Dental Prosthetists [411212]
  • Dental Technicians [411213]
  • Dental Therapists [411214]
These changes are effective on applications from 1 July 2016. If you are affected by any of these changes it's either time to get in your application now or get that application ready!

These changes aren't the best of news to those taking Dental related Diploma courses such as  TAFE's Diploma of Dental Technology. Students who are completing their course this year in June will have to hurry in applying for their graduate stream 485 visa (which has a SOL requirement) before 1 July 2016. If you are not make this deadline, you will be unlikely to attain your graduate 485 visa.
