How My SoulCollage® Cards Predicted an Amazing Event

by

SoulCollage® Facilitator Joan Ungar

In the summer of 2009 I took an introduction to a SoulCollage® workshop facilitated by Audrey Chowdhury at Kathleen Grittner's Full Circle Retreat in Southern Wisconsin. I was thrilled and amazed at the cards I intuitively created. One of my first Council Cards, "Divine Marriage," spoke in these words:

I Am One Who understands that marriage is not carved in stone, that the trickster nudges me when I believe in fairy tales, and reminds me that a relationship must move and grow to be alive. My wisdom for you is: Don't forget to play and dance to your individual tunes together-that the dance of partnership just begins with marriage. My response to the card's words was: I would like to try it.

I also made a Committee card that said: I Am One Who holds on to being a bride after 80. My wisdom for you is:  It's never too late. My response to these words was: I wish I could believe this.

Joan.Husband I continued to expand my deck over the years, and even attended the SoulCollage® Facilitator Training. Then, in 2011 I met a lovely man, Ed, and we became engaged. Several months before the wedding, one of my friends was looking at my SoulCollage® cards and noticed the Committee card who spoke of being a bride after age 80. I had totally forgotten about it! I couldn't believe that a part of me actually knew about this before it happened, and that the SoulCollage® cards could be prophetic! We used the image on our wedding invitations and on July 15, 2012, we were married! Our story, including the amazing prophecy of my SoulCollage® cards, was even reported in the Minneapolis Star Tribune!

How did all this come about?

I grew up in Los Angeles and graduated in 1954 from Smith College in Massachusetts. I worked overseas for eight years for the U.S. State Department, and then moved back to California to study art and explore my spirituality. In 1980, I moved to the Twin Cities and worked as an art therapist.

Ed was born on the East Coast and married at age 21, raising three children with his wife.  He lost both his wife and daughter in the same year, 2003.  In 2010, his son persuaded Ed to move from Florida to Minneapolis. He took a small apartment and felt ready to date. He tried an online dating service, and then a site for Jewish singles. When my profile came up, he liked that I am an artist and world traveler. After several e-mails and phone calls, we met for lunch. Ed proposed and on February 25th, I accepted. We planned our wedding to coincide with my 80th birthday.

Description:    One of my very first SoulCollage® cards was of a part of me called, "The Seeker". Audrey.Chowdhury This was no doubt the one who insisted that I go to California to be trained as SoulCollage® facilitator in 2005. I am one who is always looking for ways to connect with Spirit, and constantly asking for divine guidance. In fact, I am one who often asks Spirit to send me very clear, concise directions. My spiritual journey has lead me to several beautiful paths, beginning with the Twelve Steps of Al Anon, to metaphysical teachings, Buddhist study groups, transformational healing practices, energy healing, and sound healing. I have taken my SoulCollage® deck to gatherings of spiritual seekers of many different perspectives and have found that regardless of the focus of the group, SoulCollage® always fits perfectly as a way to find the inner knowing that connects us to the Divine.

Through my years of teaching and practicing SoulCollage®, I have learned that the way to truly knowing, and trusting, Spirit's guidance can be found by creating and consulting SoulCollage® cards. I have found that the structure of the suits is the simplest and most meaningful way to understand the phrase,: "We are spiritual beings having a human experience." (by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin)

Chaplains, spiritual directors, Bible study leaders, theologians and seekers from all perspectives will enjoy exploring the possibilities of using SoulCollage® as a spiritual practice. We will discuss how the many levels of the practice: from creating the cards, to speaking from them, consulting them for guidance, and placing them in suits are each a form of spiritual practice. We will explore how the various aspects of the process can be brought into spiritual settings as appropriate, and how they can be adapted to the particular beliefs of a system. Click to Find Out More or Register.

What people are saying...

I want [our Trainers] to know how valuable their presence is to this process, that their love for SoulCollage®, their willingness to do the work themselves, and their living and gentle support and guidance has made this experience a meaningful and wonderful one.
~

[I was] very moved by the physical experience of becoming part of the international network of people opening ourselves for ourselves. This Training was a very important introduction to a powerful tool for accessing myself directly -- unmediated...A revolutionary process and tool that I know I will use often...I am grateful to be a part of the SoulCollage® community.
