FPN Welcomes New Board Members &
Officers, Honors Outgoing Board Member & Chair
At its January 2015 meeting,
FPN's board of directors welcomed two new members:
Térèse Coudreaut Curiel, vice president of
administration and secretary to the board of trustees,
John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and Teri Hansen,
president and CEO, Gulf Coast Community Foundation. The
board also welcomed new officers for 2015. Susan Towler,
vice president, Florida Blue Foundation will serve as
chair and Patricia Maddox, president and CEO, Winter
Park Health Foundation will serve as vice chair. At its
2015 Summit, FPN honored outgoing board member Steve
Marcus, president and CEO of the Health Foundation of
South Florida, who served on FPN's board since 2001, and
outgoing board chair Mark Brewer, president & CEO of

Helps Launch Florida Charitable Advisory Partnership to
Advise State Charity Regulators
Florida Philanthropic Network,
in partnership with the Florida Nonprofit Alliance
(FNA), launched the Florida Charitable Advisory
Partnership (FCAP) in February with a kick-off meeting
in Tallahassee. Comprised of philanthropic, community
and charitable leaders in Florida, FCAP will advise
state charity regulators on matters pertinent to
Florida's charitable nonprofit sector. A primary focus
of FCAP's work will be on advising the Florida
Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, which
regulates charitable solicitations in the state, but the
group will also seek to work with the Florida Department
of State and Florida Attorney General. [Read More] |

Health Foundation of South Florida Supports Local Health Organizations
The Health Foundation of South Florida recently approved
over $1.5 million for grants in its priority areas:
behavioral health, healthy eating active communities,
preventive health measures and primary care as well as
other community health needs. The combined impact of the
funding to 20 nonprofit health-related organization is
expected to reach and improve health for thousands of
residents in Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. |

Quantum Foundation to Host Code4Good Hackathon to Inspire Health Solutions in Palm Beach County
Quantum Foundation is teaming up with Modernizing
Medicine and Florida Atlantic University�s world-class
accelerator, Tech Runway, to stimulate health-related
innovation in Palm Beach County. In March, the foundation will host its first hackathon, giving
engineers, designers and entrepreneurs a hands-on
environment to connect, build teams and create a piece
of software that enhances the quality of life in
underserved communities. |
