Internationally renowned, don Amrico Ybar is a Master Peruvian paqo, mystic, and poet from Paucartambo, Cusco province, the same high mountain expanses in which the Q'ero people of the high Andes live, and with whom he has shared both friendship and a spiritual path.
For over two decades Amrico has acted as a chakaruna, a cultural bridge. He has brought to communities around the world teachings inspired by his years of experience in these high mountain between 14,000 and 20,000 feet, as well as teachings inspired from the depths of the Peruvian jungle. The Q'ero, called the descendants of the Incas, still live today in remote mountainous regions and continue to share a deep and abiding friendship with Don Amrico and his son Gayle.
These ancient mountain therapies help each person access filaments of light found within the heart, and then connect these filaments to Pacha Mama (Mother Earth), to the Stars, to all of the Universe, and ultimately to the Infinite.
Experiencing our heart in this way can transform our view of the world. Our eyes now have opportunities to "see" other dimensions of reality as portals of Love through which we can travel.
Of great importance to the West, Amrico has further introduced the Andean concept of Salka, the Quechua word for wild and savage. Don Amrico has brought to this word the connotation and therapeutic use of "raw, undomesticated, primal energy inherent in all of nature (including us) that originates in and from the Divine."
Together with his son Gayle--who has embodied the Salka path from an early age, and who is seen as a warrior of Andean mysticism across the globe, especially by its youth--Amrico will encourage us to explore our own Salka energies. In this two-day workshop he will additionally guide us through energetic movements and healing rituals inspired by the practices of the Q'ero paqos and other indigenous communities, his lifelong friends and fellow travelers on the Andean spiritual path. It is Amrico's intent that each of us experience the profound effects of these mysteries directly, in deep consciousness, and with love.
