We do have fair to good skiing over the entire Birkie Trail system and are expecting more light snow over the next two days. We are looking forward to a great ski winter. Hopefully, Mother Nature will continue to be a friend!
Skiers are signing up for the 2013 BirkieTour coming up on January 19. This non-competitive, supported event offers something for everyone. It's your chance to spend a great day with family and friends on this famous trail. See details below.
The BirkieTour is also the first event of the 2013 Birkie Warrior Series that we started last year. Ski the BirkieTour, one of the Birkie races, and participate in the Birkie Trail Run & Trek on September 21, and you will become a Birkie Warrior and enjoy customized Birkie gear as your reward.

BirkieTour - January 19
Getting ready for the Birkie, or would you like to do a long ski on the Birkie Trail, followed by some great food and festivities? Now is a good time to think about signing up for the BirkieTour on January 19. This non-competitive ski event is a great way to do a fully supported, long-distance ski in January on the Birkie Trail. There are food stations, T-shirts, pins, followed by lunch at Telemark Lodge, all for a very low fee of $50 if you register by January 6. Because this is an untimed, non-competitive event, the BirkieTour makes for a great day of skiing the Trail with family and friends.
_ Two distances: 50K or 25K
_ And, you get Worldloppet credit!

First-Ever "Birkie Fever" Tent Party!
On Thursday evening of Birkie race week, February 21, immediately following the Welcome Ceremony and Nikkerbeiner, the Birkie will host the "Blast with the Past" in the finish line Celebration Tent adjacent to the Main Street. This tent party will be a great time to meet and greet Birkie legends, such as the winner of the very first Birkie, Sam (Eric) Errson of Sweden, and others who have made the Birkie what it is today. It's also just a great way to celebrate skier life! The event will include great food, a beer cash bar, hot chocolate, coffee, and fun--all in our warm, heated Celebration Tent! Proceeds will go to JDRF, our "Birkie Skiers for Cures" partner. Price is $5 per person.,
